I'm running a Thinkpad R50e. I've got 760 MB or ram in it. When i check my graphics settings it normally reads:

Minimum Graphics Memory: 8 MB
Maximum Graphics Memory: 64 MB
Graphics Memory in Use: 7 MB

Once I start up CS:S for a few rounds im still at
Minimum Graphics Memory: 8 MB
Maximum Graphics Memory: 64 MB
Graphics Memory in Use: 15 MB

The graphics are lagging so bad I can't play, why isn't IEEG allocating more memory? Is there a way to manually set this? I looked through my BIOS and there were no video card options in it. Thanks

I've never been able to set it to stay at 64mb permanently. Its dynamic and always changing. If anyone knows a way please share. =)

Well, CS:S was just a game i tried out. But the same deal happens with other games as well. It almost seems like the graphics memory is capped.

Basically, I'm trying to see what I can waste my time playing at my on-campus job. Any recommendations for games that run decently on IEG?

I have the same problem in my Acer Travelmate 4010, but I can assign a max. (no 64 MB option) of 32MB of minimun size via BIOS, but I want to set it to 64MB, so anyone knows how to do it?

Probably need to limit yourself to older games like Return to Castle Wolfenstein, original Counter Strike, UT2002 etc.

Intel Extreme Graphics 2 can't even play the "Nature" scene in 3dmark2001 so anything that requires DX8 or better probably won't play that well. I've got a 3yr old laptop with a mobility 7500 that still perfoms better but it just gets by (e.g. 60 - 70 fps) playing games like Return to Wolfenstein.

I was having trouble with this myself. It seems like there are no bios settings or settings in Windows that let you set change this. Under Linux you can specify how much graphics memory you are using; I am able to run bzflag at 1280x800, the laptop's native resolution, no problem.
