I've been reading some stuff recently about the manufacturing of these cards. For those who don't know, all of the ultra version cards are initially being manufactured by on factory under nVidia's direction, and then being distributed by Gainward, MSI, etc. Therefore, regardless of the branding of the card, they are ALL physically identical, including the board layout and the cooling solution (the board is smaller than the initial reference design but they do all use that black cooler thing).
Anyway, now that I've ranted (I'm pretty pissed off), does anyone have any idea of when companies will get to make their own boards? I was really looking forward to getting an MSI card with their infinitely better silent cooling solution. Although I'm building my computer now, I'm willing to wait on the video card if it's a matter of a month or so since I plan on using this comp for 4-5 years, but if it's more like six months I need to know! I emailed MSI, but I don't really expect a response.
