You do have a good point, but I'm sure you agree that the black community is atleast suffering because of this issue. Black athletes need to stop being targeted as "thugs" or "rappers."

White athletes are normally seen on ESPN and brought up on steroid or drug problems.

Black athletes normally are seen on ESPN with charges of theft, rape, or murder.

When athletes in general start behaving more appropriately, they'll get a better rep.

With all the other issues in the black community such as education, 7 out of 10 children born to single moms, etc etc...this is really at the bottom of the list.

Marcus Vick is being targeted as a "thug" because he acts like a "thug". You get caught driving with weed on a suspended license you are setting yourself up to be a "thug". You get caught with underage girls you are setting yourself up to be a "thug". You stomp on the back of another player's knee and twist your foot you are setting yourself up to be a "thug".

Now compare Vick with two of the other top black QBs in college football right now - Vince Young and Chris Leak. Has anybody been going after them? Nope. Why? Because they don't do any of the crap that Marcus Vick has done.

Bad argument. Kobe was on top of the world when him and Shaq were having disputes, and also when he had those charges of rape brought up.

And it's kinda hard to make the argument that he can't throw in the pocket when he's one of the best throwing QBs in college, backed up by statistics.

Also, they may have a right to question how well he is going to be. Vick led the NCAA in passing efficiency one year, and was 2nd the next, yet he really isn't a very good pocket passer, or passer in general. Sure he has a great arm, but he's not a very good throwing QB.
