Apparently, he still makes money doing the gigs, so it works for him.

I was a 90's teen and never liked his style of music. If I could wipe his music from my existence, I'd be A-O-K with that.

Manson is pretty boss. It's weird though, his songs are hit or miss. They either kick ass or they completely suck. There is no in between.

I'd rather see the Pumpkins myself, didn't even know they were still doing things.

Should be a good show at any rate, but not something I'd go out of my way for these days I guess.

You mean like David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Dream Disciples, Sex Pistols, Portishead, Suspiria, PJ Harvey and, NIN? I agree that much of pop culture is derivative but. it's pretty clear who can play their instruments (that includes voice) and who can't. Marilyn Manson is a good business but, a lackluster performer.

Everyone has their own tastes, don't assume age means lack of knowledge or appreciation of contemporary music and I'll try not to assume you don't know anything about music made before you were born.

FYI: Did you know that Marilyn Manson played guitar on a Nine Inch Nails album when he was a teenager and is featured in a video for a song off Broken?

It's very easy to judge when you don't have a clue what you're talking about.

Not a MM fan myself but saying "I don't like MM therefore he sucks" is the same as say "I don't like the taste of strawberry so its disgusting".

Music is 100% personal taste unless were discussing something like technical skills on an instrument and even then there's a bit of room for interpretation.

In future it might be best to preface such statements with "in my opinion" or something along those lines.


Edit: And musical comparisons between the two aside, Alice Cooper put together some pretty amazing bands in the 1970's plus had some very talented writers in his employ.

I've heard worse albums this year, I just can't think of one offhand.

I sort of like MM's earlier stuff, but this one just felt like it was mailed in. I'll give it another spin later and see if it's a slow burner.

This new fangled world where full albums are on YouTube boggles my mind.

The first song sounds pretty classic Manson.
Strong bass line industrial rock and his classic vocals. I like it.

Manson really peaked when he had Reznor producing his albums (Antichrist Superstar) and really fell off after that. Even John 5 couldn't breath anything more creative.

It really sucks he has falling outs with so many people. Hearing him actually speak he seems rather intelligent, but apparently, he rubs people the wrong way.
