so sad is a place where murder is celebrated.

Yup, so sad. You know the terrorists did not celebrate when 3000 civilians were murdered.

Congrats for including 9/11 into a sentence, I forgot to add that one to my list of mind control buzz words.

I don't get it. I'm agreeing with you that the terrorists are the good guys. They have morals and stuff. Like not celebrating after killing thousands.

I guess it's ok that Americans can take horrible photos of abused prisoners but since they're the enemy it's acceptable.... who's the real criminal? Who's in who's country right now even after our work in Iraq is "over" according to George Bush?

You are so right. Americans (I mean the entire group of people, from your previous post) are such assholes for letting a couple of soldiers misbehave. Let's hate every American some more. And remember, there is nothing wrong with beheading someone on video. Nothing at all, because America deserves it.

So much hate in your heart... sorry you don't like the hypocrisies of your arguments handed to you. Speaking of which, have you seen those weapons of mass destruction that our presence in Iraq is deemed neccesary for? Oh no wait, we're there to implement our ideals for government for them since they're incapable of seeing things our way.

it's a definition thing: Murder is NOT just "the ending of a life", that's killing.

mur·der ( P ) Pronunciation Key (mûrdr)
n.

1. The unlawful killing of one human by another, especially with premeditated malice.
2. Slang. Something that is very uncomfortable, difficult, or hazardous: The rush hour traffic is murder.
3. A flock of crows. See Synonyms at flock1.

The Geneva Convention is basically the set of "laws" that governs warfare, so it is not technically murder.

Hey, I agree that it's a terrible thing and that we would be much better off if human nature was such that people could stop fighting. But, you can't really put combatant casualties in quite the same class as some random guy who is walking down the street and gets shot.

It also doesn't change the fact that the other side is doing the exact same thing.
Maybe actually celebrating isn't proper, but once a war is on, there's nothing wrong with acknowledging extraordinarily brave acts...in fact, it is our duty to do so.

Yes, I am inferior to you. You are beyond hate. Here is your honorary white gown, pointed hat, and burning cross.

Speaking of which, have you seen those weapons of mass destruction that our presence in Iraq is deemed necessary for?

I haven't, but I haven't been to Iraq either. But I have talked to soldiers who returned, and from what they said most of the population appreciate Saddam being gone. Oh wait, our soldiers are all just a bunch of murders and liars. I bet Saddam was really an innocent kind ruler.

Oh no wait, we're there to implement our ideals for government for them since they're incapable of seeing things our way.

What is our way? Please, explain, because I don't think "our way" is worse than "their way". The feeling I'm getting from you is that America is the Great Devil. Is that our way?

Oh yeah, good job for pushing your political beliefs in a non-political thread. As expected. But you should stop before the thread is locked. Unleash yourself in P&N.

BTW, Bush is going to get reelected because he is a just leader who fights for America (including you)

You're missing the point. Their culture should decide their own form of government. If they want a violent dictator what business is it of ours? There are no political beliefs in this thread as I have no political stance on anything because politics are a farce. I only put blame where it is due in my opinion. Bush is going to get re-elected because the democratic party chose a diet cola candidate. However, if you think Bush is fighting for anything but his own gain then you've been misled. What exactly is he fighting for again... peace? Quite a biting joke, no? Can you give me a good reason honestly why you think America should still be in Iraq?

I'm not going to celebrate 20 people being killed, though this guy had a job and he did it. War is hell.

Well...this thread went to sh!t pretty fast.

I see where CorpRec is coming from, but I don't feel as strong as he does. Yes, those men he killed wouldn't have died, if we hadn't invaded Iraq. However, the Marine has a job, and he did it. He may be a mindless killing machine, he may not, I certainly don't know him. I don't celebrate the death of those men, but a lot of the people here like to hear about brave & courageous men. This man fits the bill.

That is all.

While leading his platoon north on Highway 1 toward Ad Diwaniyah, Chontosh's platoon moved into a coordinated ambush of mortars, rocket propelled grenades and automatic weapons fire. With coalitions tanks blocking the road ahead, he realized his platoon was caught in a kill zone.

The Iraqis may still be alive had they not attempted to ambush a platoon of troops as they headed north on the highway either. They tried to ambush us, and Capt. Chontosh whooped up on them. That is all.

...I was talking about any of them dying, at all..period. You act like I care about the Iraqis. I don't, one group was gonna prevail, and the US one did. That is all.

I am not the enemy here, just trying to make things better.

Fair enough. Also, although I quoted you specifically, I was sort of addressing other people in this thread as well. No worries. I'm hearing you, in that it sucks that people are dying, but if you shoot at our boys you gotta go!

*sigh*....

why do people have to bring politics into this? Isn't that considered thread crapping?

These Marines served their country honorably and went above and beyond the call of duty. Give them the respect they deserve and keep your political views and liberal "i dont like war. it's not very nice" comments in the politics forum.
