Woot. I liked the taste of Pepsi throwback.

i wish coke would do this. i know people say they make a kosher version with sugar for holidays or something but...we dont get any of that here. id love to try it, even though im not big on soda.

I just had some Pepsi Throwback last night and it tastes identical to regular Pepsi. Regular Pepsi is slightly sweeter. It's yet again your minds playing tricks on you. Just like the whole Organic foods tasting better which we know is not true.

How does it taste identical if you think that regular pepsi is sweeter?

Sugar tastes better than HFCS.. I just does.. You can't argue that.. Now, the hippy health stuff- bleh. who cares? You shouldn't be drinking soda if you want to be healthy anyways.. But Sugar is awesome - crisp, clean tasting.. Just nom!

I posted about it:

It could have been attributed to how old the Pepsi Throwback was. The Throwback was from when they were sold a couple months ago. I had one at my grandma's house and it's been in her fridge ever since. She had regular Pepsi as well. I tasted the regular Pepsi which was bought at the store the day before which was this past weekend then Throwback. After months of it sitting or it could have just been made at a different plant. Who knows but there was just a slight difference in the taste. It was very hard to tell. Took me a couple sips. People want things to taste different and they make it so. People will say organic foods taste better just because it's organic. People will say bottled water tastes better just cus it's bottled. People say things with sugar taste better cus they think it's that way. Placebo effect.

Well that's true. And folks are making a fucking killing off of people's stupidity. It's like monster cable/bose. It makes them feel good for paying so much money for no benefit.

I know this sounds like trolling and a threadjack, but it's the very same principle.

Didn't you post in some thread about audio power cables what a big difference the power cable made and now you are calling people that can taste a difference between HFCS and sugar the lunatic fringe? The difference between this and your power cables? Nothing. People are willing to pay a bit more for what the perceive to be better. Pot meet kettle.

I think people have to realize that not everyone has the same sense of taste, just as everyone can't see or hear equally well.

I can tell the difference between HFCS and sugar in soda in a blind test, and the sugar version does taste better. It's not 1,000x better, but it is better and I prefer sugar. I have nothing against HFCS health-wise (I think it's pretty much the same as sugar, if you plan on overconsuming either), though, just the taste.

Honey is my favorite sweetener, but I really only use that (sparingly) for tea. Mmm, honey green tea.

 I do like black tea. I got a lb of Assam tea (whole leaf) from a recent trip to India. Good stuff, only cost $15 and I have some more Ceylon in another bag.

i read that article from skeptoid and it makes a ton of sense
i dont really consume all that much sugar anyhow and always was sort of on the boat that felt it was more the same as sugar with the same effects. so i generally just look at the amount of sugar that is in something im going to consume. if it is pretty much the same thing its not going to matter, i just dont eat too much of it.

common sense for any nutritional bit of information on a food item. moderation is the key and obviously there are just some things i avoid altogether (like trans fat)
