Fixed that for you

That's one of my pet peeves. I've known people that do that constantly, and think it's correct...

The cat needs fed
The lawn needs cut
The car needs washed...

that is terrible terrible grammar. i have seen it before, and have no clue why people continue to talk like idiots, even to the point of priding themselves on it

sentences need verbs! you cant make passive verbs stronger by leaving them out!

In true demoralizing fashion by the wedding dress industry, they make those dresses about 2x larger than street size, so the buyer was probably around an 8.

I don't consider myself a grammer nazi, but everyone once in awhile I wander into my local craigslist rants and raves section for a laugh. I'm not sure some of these people actually know how to read.

Aren't most clothes vanity sized now anyway? Maybe the wedding dress industry has just refused to follow the rest of the clothing makers.

It's Pennsylvania speak. Apparently that passes for proper in that part of the country. It drives me crazy so I'm glad I don't live there.

Any cunning linguist can tell you that needs washed is a continuation of a pattern in the speech of Scots-Irish settlers in the U.S.

Then again I suppose we should all have been able to guess that lxskllr wasn't a cunning linguist...

The construction makes syntactic sense: the subject of "needs washed" is understood as the object of the verb WASH, so the semantics here is a lot like the semantics of the passive, and we use the past participle form (washed) in the passive, so why not use it in this context?

/dons fireproof suit...

An online survey by the magazine "FHM" found that when shown pictures of three bikini-clad models, four out of five men said they were more attracted to the size 12 and size 14 models than the model who was a slimmer size 8. This finally proves the theory of, "My anaconda don't want none unless you got BUNS hun."

i have issues with that survey. the models in the middle and on the right took sexier poses.

anyways, i'd prefer the one in the middle, but the one on the left is good too.
