Married/engaged folk: how did you ask your partner's dad for his blessing/permission?

I'm going to be calling up my girlfriend's dad in an hour or so and was wondering what other people's experiences were. Good? Bad? Hopefully all good.

Can you describe/name the episode where the screen cap came from? Most will be painfully easy.

I'm living with her now, but we talked about it a long time ago and she thought it would be nice of me to talk to her folks before popping the question.

That's what I did. Get along with them very well, spend a lot of time with them, but was extremely nervous. Hardest thing was trying to get them not to tell their daughter!
