Regs, it's precisely because so many treat marriage as a joke that the divorce rate is so high. People don't take it for the serious lifetime commitment it should be, and they simply don't put in the time and effort to make it work......

When you think of getting married, ask yourself: do you make eachother happy? Do you share common goals in life? Do you want to share all the ups and the downs, or are you just happy to be with that person given your current situation/environment? Things will change down the road, that's a given.

You don't have to be the same, have the same personalities or traits, but you do have to have things in common and share the same bottom line goals. Without a solid foundation to build on, a marriage is bound to crumble......

You see, it is woman's nature to be bitchy about things...but every now and then you'll come across a woman who is missing that gene all together...if you two hit off at all, marry her.

I've been married for four years now and my wife has yet to nag me or get upset at me for some stupid reason. As a result, we have never yelled at one another and been in any kind of a fight. My wife is not small minded...she overlooks the little things about me that, all pooled together, might annoy her and I do the same. And my wife and I are extremely loyal and trusting of one another.

And my wife is smart (3.9 GPA in music history and theory in college), funny, and HOT!!! How HOT you might ask? Well, when we were chilling at Barney's in Hollywood...Colin Farrell hit on my wife while she was returning from the bathroom. I might point out that Colin apparently apologized when he realized she was married.


Dude, give me a moment to congratulate myself on my good fortune...okay, I'm done. Damn I feel good!!

um, marriage is not a joke to me. and i don't have to give my money away and my wife works.

I don't know why you would categorize those traits separately. They are all important. You can say looks don't last forever but they sure hell do help. Money is the only thing on that list I would not give a damn about. Since we all have this Knight in Shinning Armor effect that if we date or marry a loser we think we could change them around.

And of course I would not want the one I marry to be dumb as a post. Could be fun, but no.
