Edit-Don't get me wrong, sex is not what makes a good relationship. Trust, honestly and respect make a relationship strong. If you don't have those things then it's doomed to fail IMO.

Doesn't matter. Children make a bad relationship worse while they make a good relationship stronger. If you married thinking that marriage would solve all your problems then you made a huge mistake. If you had children thinking that would solve all your marital problems then you made a colossal mistake.

BTW-I have a 5 year old son.

Oh, I have too, believe me. It's bad. Worse when kids are involved, which luckily wasn't the case with my ex.

Society needs some new, better way for man & woman to share life in enduring long relationships.

Our conventional marriage amounts to womens' predation on men.
It leans too much the woman's way.
It's too easy to get into, without providing stability for child rearing.
If it goes bad, society is full of supportive things for her.
He gets screwed to the max with debt, and is financially & emotionally nuked. . . tough! Just deal with it, guy.

Future society, within a few generations from now, needs to evolve some better way.

we have been married for 7 years.

for the last five months, we have been together 24 hours a day, and we are about to start the appalachian trail where we will hike together for the next 7-8 months, then we are going to spend a year going around the US in our motorhome. I personally couldn't imagine it any other way.

Will be married for two years in June. Have been together for 7 years now.
There are good times and not so good times, but at the end of the day, i still look at my spouse and get that "butterfly" feeling in my stomach. It is great knowing i have someone to share life with... without reservation and that allows me to be myself (no matter how weird i am!)
