Oh I leveled her to 10 like a bunch. The ones I unlocked are Captain America and Iron Man in the steam sale, and Deadpool. I have another free unlock to use.

For the cake slices I got a fifth stash.

I didn't find her phasing move in combat skill useful.

But I do find you run out of hotkeys with the 8, not convenient to use the other bars.

you sure about that, I thought the vendor stayed now?

There have been a couple of staff posts in MH forums saying the cake vendor / terminal would only be there until next week's patch.

They keep the ARMOR, etc. vendors in the side room, but they cycle through those events weekly.

But I do find you run out of hotkeys with the 8, not convenient to use the other bars.

Usually it's fine if you ignore half of the available skills. Many endgame builds have a rotation that only needs the 8 with sometimes a second set of a couple extra rarely-used ones like the stun/hold break power.

Note when looking at endgame builds they usually use powers you don't get until well above level 10.

http://marvelheroes.info/build/27642/

... notice how half the skills have 0 points in them, many others have only 1 point in them (mouse over a skill to see the "raw" points before gear adds +x)

Well iron man is up to 20 in the last 24 hours.

Flying is convenient.

How do you get the shield agent to help in combat, is it a good idea?

Someone said to donate the 93 cake slices remaining to the crafter instead of buying the costume gems or relic packs - good idea?

I would get costume cores, don't open them except on the hero you want them for and after they reach level 60.

Donate the non-Unique hero gear (save the uniques!), rings, medallions, gift delivery notes and spare medkits after you have a full stack of 200.

Concentrate on donating to the crafter over feeding you pet. One way to do this is to only let your pet chew on the white, green and maybe blue while you save the most valuable purple and yellow to donate. That keeps your inventory from overflowing.

> How do you get the shield agent to help in combat, is it a good idea?

Once you are given the Team-up. go to the roster but instead of switching heroes click on the second tab to select from the team-up roster and assign them. You can have the same team-up assigned to all of your heroes at once.

Once they are assigned, their picture appears to the left of the powers bar. Click on their picture to summon them. I play with the team-up in the first mode, always with me unless they are defeated. The other 2 modes are "appear for a short time but fight harder" (was intended for boss fights) and "help now and then from off-screen" (not recommended outside of a few endgame areas).

The team-up has 4 gear slots for team-up gear. These belong to the team-up and stay with them when you switch heroes. Besides the basic stat boosts there are special team-up boosts on at least the cosmic / yellow ones, my favorites are:
- team-up gains 100% health when you use a medkit
- team up gains 20% damage against bosses when you attack the boss
- team up has 10% chance to gain invulnerability for 4? seconds when attacked
- team up gains 1% damage bonus on enemy defeat stacks up to 20 times

Ya, my inventory is already a bit wild because I'll get 8 purple boots for a character hard to pick between taking up space, multiply by armor types and several heroes. Wanna keep a rare item find item, an upgrade I can't yet equip... and a lot are just hard to pick one from another.

Some described the game as like Diablo II and I realized they're right on. It's almost exactly like it - now all the little vases you can break are a little annoyingly similar to it.

(They mentioned the designed was a lead designer on Diablo II also).

Then I see runes for runewords, and even a place 'bovineheim' (A *cow level!*)

I bought the two free heroes I could get.

One was invisible woman I like anyway, and the other is the cat burglar (I forget the exact name).

Purple can safely be donated. you'll get thousands. Cosmic is also fairly easy to get from Industry City Patrol, Midtown, Hightown. You'll also get a unique now and then.

Also, don't stress too much about the best version of anything except Unique rarity, especially below level 60 where you'll out-level it in a few hours.

For unique, save them for later on once you donate the crafter up to level 16. At that level there is a recipe to get a 10,000? credit chest for 3? uniques. Do that and donate the chest to the crafter to level up to 18? super-fast and unlock a second recipe that takes 4 of the same unique for 50,000? -- donate one or two of those and you max out the crafter. That unlocks a recipe for 5 of the same kind that gives 500,000 credits.

Those you keep in your stash until you need to use the recipe to re-roll the stats on unique and artifacts, that is fairly expensive.

Two heroes I don't like the character of, doom and loki, and my third random got loki.

I think I'll just not play it and wait for another 175 splinters - I have 4 others unlocked.

Hm, 1325 for the costumes - I assume it's for all of them as a package? - is still a good bit of coin for them (about $15?)

Not normally interested but a couple are nice. Thoughts on the costumes? They're being described as 'very rarely available'.

Right now I'm expecting to play mostly for a bit of the leveling period, not to play a lot.

Ack, that's the price per costume. $10-$15 for one costume.

Yes, these are for hardcore players who want to stand out, or who really love that alternate version of a favorite character.

If you get a character to 60 and find that you want to keep playing it as your main, then you can look in the store to see the other costumes and see if one really grabs you. Then wait for a sale

Yes, the RNG gods can be kind, cruel, or sometimes a pleasant surprise. I got Daredevil and wasn't thrilled playing him, then got The Thing and am having fun leveling up. Both are melee, but Ben is just more fun for me.

I hate games that want you to use more than 8 skills, like WoW where you just put everything on the screen and aren't really restricted from using whatever you want.

This annoys me with some of the Marvel Heroes, but it's very few heroes that you need significantly more than a single bar--Dr Strange requires a little more than 2 bars to be effective.

For this, there are some scripts where you can hotkey second skill bar slots to new key bindings.

I've' mapped my keys like this:

Skills 1-6: asdfer (e & r are basically my money shot/signature rotation: depends on the hero whether or not the sig is found there).

2nd skill bar I place the always-on auras for the heroes, things I don't have to activate, but slot 1 and 6 are for my 2nd hotkey skills, I fix those to w and t.

This gives me 2 extra skills beyond a single skill bar that I can quickly activate without needing to flip bars. I find that to be more than enough for 95% of my heroes. There are other scripts that people use for toggling skill bars and hotkeying even more skills, but I like to keep things simple.

I was surprised by how much I liked Thing, after how terrible the other FF were. I actually liked Daredevil and he is one of those few unique characters that has his own type of system--a combo based skill set which is fun to mess around with, and he's also quite strong. That being said, I stopped playing him a long time ago.

So looks like they changed how the cake stuff worked this year with labeling the slices as 3rd year and killing off the vendor in a couple days. So since it looks like they won't have much value next year (unless they have another conversion), what should be be spending them off.

On my main account I had almost a thousand prior slices in addition. To new ones so get all of the good stuff and still have a thousand or so slices left. Should I make cakes, get one of the chest items, or save for next year?

On a somewhat related note, on the kids free account, have done the same but only about 500 slices left, how about that one?

Well, one thing I found yesterday - the game puts medkits in the "H" key, but you can use M to use them and put something else in it.

Also your level-10 travel power has a separate hotkey, mine is Q.

If you look at endgame builds on the build site, almost all of them have your full main rotation on one hotbar, with a few rarely-used skills on a second bar.

I usually map them the same across heroes -- left / right mouse are the continuous attacks (basic ranged or melee left, spirit/suit/mental version on right), a-s-d-f are the area attacks, last two are dash / charge / teleport and "other" (often an active buff).

I have chests that say they can give a unique item in the stash to save (bounty hunter's chests, supply kit from agent 13, mystic mayhem coffers and coffers of achievement).

That leaves worldstone cache, and chests of odin's bounty to decide whether to open.

I also got a 'midtown fortune card', no idea what that is.

I always put my "move" (dash, tp, whatever) on the right mouse button with the primary/basic attack (not always basic if the hero has a solid spirit-spender) on the left mouse button.

My area attacks tend to be a-d and F is my primary damage/spirit spender main skill that is found on pretty much every hero. My rotations tend to merge around a-d leaving aoe or setup stacks to effect the F skill, dash to position (I started putting dash there because NC was my main from early on, so of course I just stuck with that), and e-r I remapped for my big single damage hits.

w and t mapped to second bar instant activation for cooldown aruras--something like gambit's ragin cajun or any skills that act as temporary buffs. Stuff like that.

I think my quick travel is just the 2nd skill bar right mouse button, which I have hot-keyed to just switch back and forth between 2 of my mouse buttons.

I never realized there is a default key for the quick travel, heh. I thought Q was for the Ultimate, no?

the midtown fortune card drops during midtown madness--an event active every monday in midtown--and is just a random item. You open it and it just drops gear from a specific loot table, which you can see when hovering over the card. You can get the midtown signet ring which is one of the top pieces of gear for physical/mele heroes that have a strong movement component to their kit....which is probably more than half of them, because movement is a part of many skills beyond the simple dash. It has a roll, though, and you want the physical damage to be a minimum of, say, 25%. I think the range on that damage roll is something like 10-30%, and I don't think you can reroll it at the crafter...unless that is one of the newer recipes. Maybe you can, now, but it isn't really worth it because they do drop somewhat frequently.

depends on how grindy you are, I guess.

For the chests with uniques, they have no set level for the contents so save them until you reach 60 and get level 60 items. Mystic Mayhem chests and coffers of achievement also scale up to your current level.

I think the cosmic worldstone chests have a level set by the enemy you just defeated. If it says (say) level 32 then the gear in it has a fixed level and will not scale up higher. So you might as well open it now.

I never realized there is a default key for the quick travel, heh. I thought Q was for the Ultimate, no?

They just did this a couple of weeks ago when they gave everyone the 1-point travel power at level 10. "U" is the default for your Ultimate, and you might need to go into keybinds to pick a key for the travel power.

If you have the stash space. Also, if it includes any hero-specific gear in the list make sure you open it with a hero you want to keep playing.

Even if it's not hero specific a lot seems to bind to the hero that equips so it can't be used with a different char.

Yes, most equipment is bind on equip, but the crafter has a recipe to unbind gear using "matrix of unbinding" mat. That is rarely worth doing except for sharing some artifacts, relics, legendaries or unique-rarity gear.

The recipes that use uniques (to exchange for credit chests or 50 relics) and for visual effects do not care whether or not the item is currently bound, so do not unbind items just to use them in recipes.

One trick for stash space is that you can bind an artifact that is only needed for the visual effect (like Pym's = make hero larger, or ones with glowing orbs) to Captain America or Iron man then stick them in the hero-specific stashes you got with the Civil War pack.

If you decide to add them to a costume later (say for a giant Colossus, Hulk, Thing) you pull them out of Cap's stash and use with the crafter.
