Found out I had enough to make a total of 4 pots, so just equipped one now. I'm guessing the unbind recipe works though, and I have medals for 3 of those too. Just got into the subway and already level 12.

Found 3 of these droop things and have hit the loot pinata.

well, dont like this kind of free-2.5D game..
on their website, feel like they didnt spend much time on the character design
(well, it's FREE)

There is certainly less effort put into developing these heroes than there is in Diablo 3 or even than there was in Diablo 2. The reason for this is because there are 30+ heroes. Each one tends to have two different builds for it (which is more than some would say for D3 )

However, there's more storyline content than any other ARPG on the market. There's more end-game activities than any other ARPG on the market. There's more loot diversity even though there is less depth to the loot.

Path of Exile is my current go-to ARPG, but I have a lot of respect for the Marvel Heroes crew. These two games have helped console me since the loss of the Diablo franchise.

Every character I have played looks just like the comic version, and their abilities match the style and flavor in the books. They are all voiced really well (Deadpool is a riot), and while it can get repetitive, it is a lot of fun and really adds to the atmosphere. Ironically the characters in the comics often repeat catchphrases, so it isn't that out of place when you consider the source.

Action RPG's are not known for depth or complex storytelling. They are a loot grinding click-fest, and the "2.5D" style lets you watch the carnage as your character does their thing.

What do you feel is lacking?

Having quite a bit of fun with this one, thanks OP.. I've been wandering aimlessly though my steam library the past several months trying to find something to get into. Finally have something I look forward to playing.

I've been playing Wolverine and Deadeye. I also have Nightcrawler, but I haven't played him yet.

Really enjoying all the random free hero boxes (if you can get a code). Looks like they have been doing the codes like 2 times a day though different sites.

Any particular reason why? I've known a few Silver Surfer fans over the years and most love him because he's a silver guy on a surf board. Not a bad thing, I just honestly haven't been able to grasp his appeal all these years.

I've been screaming like a little girl since that bomb was dropped a few days ago (it was a major shocker--he was slated for end of the year at the earliest, then out of nowhere--here he comes next week)

I used to think that way, but when I started reading his stuff when I was reading all the other comic books, he quickly beat out XMen and Spiderman and stuff like that for me. He's story is rather complex and since most of it involves the cosmic and celestial beings, the plotlines and dialogue get rather philosophical.

He is by far the most powerful (non-cosmic diety--well, I guess he's cosmic, but he was once a regular dude. but only galactus/eternity/things that aren't really there are above him) hero in that universe, and yet he's always wandering around trying to figure out who the hell he is and, I don't know "what's it all about." The Surfer and Thanos storylines were some of the best that came out of Marvel. maybe still so--I have no idea.

I love all of the space stuff that surrounds him, plus he's this super cool and powerful dude, but with all of this cool philosophical stuff surrounding him.

Heck, I even liked the second Fantastic Four movie because he was in it.

Got Nightcrawler to 20 and started doing legendaries. Man oh man is he squishy! I did the AIM Weapons Facility, and I must have died about 10 times. I couldn't finish it. When i got to the room with MODOK there were just too many enemies. With Scarlet Witch I used to just roll in there and wreck shop with barely a scratch. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong.

ya, he's squishy. The idea with Nightcrawler is to not get hit--good thing he has tons of teleports and dodge. I put agile strike on main attack left click, and his starter teleport (only ever put 1 point into this) on right mouse button. This way, you can easily dance around your target as you mele them.

Main play style for me is to lay down an Infernal Brimstone field, and Flash and Grab everythign into it. If you see it on your screen, no matter where it is, and cna be grabbed and pulled to where you are. Collect all the people's in your little basket and kill them. F&G i also a stun, as well as a Great DoT inside of IB, so consider that ample time to smack on things while they can't hit you. You can also use F&G as a ranged single target, as you keep distance and telport across the screen to avoid anything you need to. It's an amazing skill.

Blink strike is great for leveling, but it's not very good end game--it is terribly for single targets, great with 2-3 targets, and horrible with about 5 targets, despite what it sounds like. It's a fun skill, but not nearly as good as F&G. consider leveling with it, though, and with Agile Strike as your spirit replenisher. YOu also want to max Heartseeker guard in the sword tree, and One Step Ahead--I think in the teleport tree. X-Slash is his best DPS skill, probably (if you are using his excalibur unique sword in the 1 slot), but is very spendy on the spirit. Not easy to level with it. Brimstone Beatdown is a really good skill that comes very close to X-Slash in DPS, but it has terrible camera bugs--just hold it down and use it enough, you'll see what I mean. But, it's pretty cheap and is close to X-Slash, so it's a decent option.

Unfortunately, most of the stealth mechanics in the game are currently broken (you will just pop out for no reason), so skills like Bamf Bomb aren't that great right now. Still, a skill like Obscuring Brimstone is very helpful for the crit buff, or escaping bullseye's targeting. same with his starter stealth skill, which only needs one point.

Focus on HP, defense, and dodge when you are gearing if you have death problems. You want those to be pretty high, anyway.

Game is fun and enjoying it. Need some advice on Inventory Management as I have become a pack rat and this can't be good. Whelp! For example should I just vendor all unused loot and gear or do I keep the Blues and better? Never bothered to look for the AH but is there one and is it worth the time to play the market a bit? TIA

Added some defense to Nightcrawler on various stuff and an uru forged. Also some life on hit. Then got infernal brimstone and things have gotten way better on survivability for him.

no market. just the trade channel. Donate EVERYTHING to your crafter that you aren't using--meaning your slot gear, even cosmics that you dont' want. If you see artifacts and uniques. (red and brown items), hold on to them if you can, because they can be valuable. Even if the unique isn't for your hero, maybe one you might want later.

I think LoH is essential for him on his core. I use the glove/gauntlet Uru with a River of Souls runeword. that helps a ton for spirit. I don't have a Pym shrinking, but I use adv scrolls of Pama, which is OK.

Probibly a proc from a piece of cosmic gear (yellow).. % chance to summon a demon to fight with you upon hit or something like that.

yeah I just noticed that, guess a side effect of being in full cosmic gear by level 11, have all these effects going on. At level 18 now and except for bosses, it's mainly just mowing everything in site down. Haven't spent but 1 power point still, have enough from gear to clean up and the health regen I have makes standard mob damage inconsequential.

yeah, i think cosmic has 1 of 3 special functions (on top of the +1 to all):

--% chance invulnerability on hit
--% chance + attack speed, mele damage, defense on hit
--% chance summon demon to fight for 30 seconds.

...that last one is bettered by Deadpool's unique headpiece (baby deadpool device?), which has %chance to summon a baby deadpool to fight with you for 3 minutes. which rocks, btw. even though his other headpiece is better if you are mele

for cosmic, I really like the invuln pieces. those are quite nice.

main game is very easy. even by the time you get to superheroic unlock, it's still easy for you. green and red terminals are super easy. I don't think Midtown has a measurable difficulty level.

the only real challenge in the game are cosmic terminals--at level 60--and the new Raid, which I have yet to try.

there's a unique frost giant belt that you can use on any hero, that summons a frost giant to fight for you. it's actually a good piece of gear. ...whenever I use it, i'm always trying to attack it before I realize it's a friendly.

So in a moment of weakness last night I pre-ordered Silver Surfer. I blame zinfamous for being so hyped for him.
