It's weird that I get my legendary quest at 20, but all of the stuff I get from doing it I can't use until 23-25. :hmm:

Is there a way to make my action bar bigger? Having only 6 actions or whatever available at a time is kind of annoying.

You level so fast in your 20s, you will not have to wait long to use the gear.

You can't add buttons to your screen, but you can add shortcut keys and setup a hotbar toggle.

Thanks! You are right; I played a few more hours on the weekend and ended up at either 26 or 27 pretty darn quickly.

A shame about the UI; would love to just expand the hotbar by one level so I can have two rows of things available at all times. I've sorted it out well enough for now just moving all of my buffs and whatnot to the second level and my attacks and heals on the first one.

Anyone get anything decent during the Big 12? I didn't find the event that great overall, but last night in boosted midtown I did OK. Mainly artifacts. Got Pym's Shrinking Serum, Super Soldier Serum, Ziggurat of Kargul, Power Prisim Shard, Taskmaster's Fighting for Loser's Guide. Also got three retcons, and five unstable molecules.

It's really funny (and annoying) for me especially right now playing Cyclops firing off random beams all over the place while I'm trying to find my cursor. :\

I find almost impossible to track my cursor during big boss fights in the midtown. There is just too much crap going on.

Playing a melee character is even more frustrating. As Spidey I just web the crap out of everything when I can't get a solid target.

Yeah that happens to me too. I just use my AoE attacks and Surfer has this beam that bounces between all enemies, so I hit that. Really hard to follow the battle sometimes.

I didn't get much, but I wasn't expecting much.

I just love playing the game and switching between heroes. Finding cool stuff is icing on the cake. I got Spider-Man and Cyclops to 60 with whatever dropped and without costume cores, blessing, etc. At some point I will invest the time and effort into fully gearing some heroes, but so far I don't feel a pressing need.

What's really bad is when fighting mobs like the main elf boss in lower asgard that constant jumps all over the place and there is often half a dozen people fighting him. So much going on in general l just use as much aoe to tack on damage as by the time I can find where he has moved too he's moving again.

Something interesting to note about mobs that "teleport" or jump a lot... if you get a hard lock on them with a power, let's say a basic that's spamable, and the mob teleports or jumps away or whatnot, you will continue to track that mob for as long as you have that power activated. It may take a moment or two for your aim to readjust (automatically), but you will fairly quickly reacquire the mob. This does not work for area targeted powers, obviously.

Another handy thing is that you can often times activate other powers in the middle of a spamable power like above. For example, my MO with Cyclops is to spam Ricochet Blast into whatever pile of mobs there is. But I'll want to throw down the area debuff without losing my hard target. Not a problem... just hold down the attack and occasionally hit my 'F' key when needed.

Midtown is almost unplayable during these events. Plus, the drops for this one weren't as good as last time and annoyingly enough--the crashes (which happen frequently with these buff weekends), occur at the worst time. Cosmic Doop drops cosmic loop, all the heroes spamming powers crashes that instance. derp.

Oh, and the loot piles when your target dies in a a corner. I hope they fix that soon.

I guess my haul was successful, though: 1 unstable molecule, ~6 retcons, 2-3 decent purple insigs (a very nice Crystal--actually, this was the most disappointing for me. I was hoping to get some great insigs, but they were all green drops).

Oh, and I got a Hand of Doom and a Gem of the Kursed. I am satisfied.

Got my first hero to 60 finally (black panther). Gonna gear him and get it so I can run cosmics quickly then guess I'll start on iron man. BP was a love hate relationship. I'm not a melee fan in arpg games. There was times I enjoyed BP melee and the other times I just despised it.

I just started looking at this game. Is it worth getting into at this point?

It definitely is! It can be buggy at times because they release so many updates, but there is so much great stuff coming out. Rogue was just released and she is awesome, she can be pretty much anything you want her to be. A lot of good events with great loot monthly. They also just introduced Cybernetics which allows your cosmetic pet to pick up items and level-up giving some really nice bonuses. Also some new content is coming out soon. And of course new characters are constantly coming out.

I gotta admit, I tried it when it first came out and my reaction was much like Penny Arcade. It's cool to be The Thing, far less so standing around as one of several Things. But with the hero variety now you hardly ever run across a clone explosion.

Very enjoyable mindless time-waste. I heartily recommend starting with Storm for lowest impact, most relaxing gameplay.

The the only time you run into a ton of similar heroes is after a new launch. Then it tapers off and people start to go back to their favorites. There are always some more common than others like Iron Man. But IM has so many costumes that I rarely see someone wearing the same one I am.

Are the patches always big for this game and so frequent? I down loaded the game (13.6gig) and played for a bit then came back a few days later and now I'm waiting on a 2.8gig patch. I'm on a shitty dsl connection so it takes some time.

there is a patch every thursday or friday. each week now has a rotating event, and basically every 2-3 or so weeks, there is a general game review, which will include a new hero and maybe a current hero review (update to current game mechanics). Those are the largest patches, and the largest I have seen is 10gb, I think.

But ~2gb is becoming more common. Used to be ~254mb per patch.

They released a brand new map yesterday, with new villains and such, so that is probably the bulk of it.

Currently they are running a halloween event, that lasts I think through midnight today.

The good part is killing any villain has the chance to drop a buff that tells you to kill one of the many bosses. Killing that boss gives you a huge loot explosion that for me has always had 2-5 uniques, and 1-2 special reliquary(sp) boxes that give either teamup purple items, or purple-cosmic rings/insignias.

With a bunch of rif/sif buffs I've been stockpiling I have anywhere from 2-8 of kill a named boss buffs on me, and have been over run with uniques for any of my toons I've been playing. As in their toon specific bank tab is full, and I have about 6 of the shared tabs completely full of uniques.

They extended the halloween event for another week, but somewhat broke the game adding in Juggernaut. So midtown manhattan is no longer a random free for all. Each isntance is private, so you have to invite people to join you. And the upside, or downside is the boss fights are all scaled as if you have a full 10 person limit in the zone. So it's a good test of how well you are equipped and specced.
