Marvel Yukon Weirdness / Steam streaming woes.

Heyo.

I'm trying to troubleshoot a problem with Steam in-home streaming. In the process, I discovered that the Marvel Yukon NIC integrated into my old Asus P5B Deluxe won't show up on my fairly new ASUS RT-N56U router's client list, in addition to being unable to see the computer I want to use as the Steam streaming host.

With the P5B in Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 using the wired connection I can get online, join and access the homegroup and workgroup, and log into my router. I've tried fresh installs of all three OSes while trying to troubleshoot the steam in-home streaming issue. I also found it odd that the Marvell Yukon often doesn't list a physical address in ipconfig (though it did this most recent time). I've tried both NIC ports in the P5B. I've tried two different drivers for it. I tried a Windows troubleshooter, and it claimed that more than one device on my network was doing NAT. I have NAT enabled in my router, but I'm pretty sure my switch and modem can't be the culprits. I've not uninstalled BOINC from my other computer, though I did uninstall it from my host on the off chance there was some conflict caused by it (which I doubt).

I've tried enabling all ports for steam and steam streaming services on both computers. I've disabled both software firewalls and the router firewall in trying to find the issue. No changes. A few times, I tossed the P5B and my host computer onto the 1 Gb switch that's hooked to my router, and for a few minutes in one of those instances the host and client saw each other (but couldn't connect). The P5B was only operating at 100Mbps and the host at 1Gbps while on the switch. I have been unable to replicate this. It is the one and only time they even saw each other in steam.

All other computers / devices on the network show up just fine in the router's client list (wired and wireless). My roomie's laptop shows up as a potential Steam in-home streaming client on my host computer. The P5B stubbornly won't show up nor list other computers that are logged into steam.

I previously streamed successfully between my current host and a new build I did. Both were using Windows 8.1 on the same router. Both the P5B and the host are fresh installs of Windows 8.1. Both are on the same workgroup and homegroup. I'm at a loss for what else to do other than see if I have a PCI NIC that still works buried in my old parts bin...

When it comes to onboard nics I tend to make sure to use just their drivers and uninstall all the other non helpful GUI programs that try to boot at startup in the taskbar.

At work we disable the" Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface" by policy. I am wonder if there is an extra setting outside the windows environment that is doing something like maybe even at the bios level.

Some apps today can change the BIOS while in windows in the newer style bios that have built in web browsers and such. Sometimes having too many bells and whistles can be a bad thing and gets one lost in their PC.
