Mass Effect 3 getting multiplayer

No details on what kind of multiplayer yet. Could be co-op, team vs team or even something like Horde mode. Announcement to come at Gamescom.

A single-player RPG adding multiplayer is always a waste of time and resources. The multiplayer turns up half assed, and the singleplayer suffers from it due to a cut in resources.

Not to mention that Bioware has been questionable of late.

EDIT: I know I'm being critical, but I found that it leads to my purchases being more rewarding and my wallet being fatter as I rarely by poorly developed games.

I'm not much for mulitplayer, but couldn't hurt I suppose. I'm half convinced that Bioware only makes one RPG and changes the skin on it.

I tried it and thought it was garbage. If that's what we have to look forward to then we're doomed.

Wow, that magazine cover blows. Too busy and way too bright.

Anyway, I've always, always had the opinion that EVERY game should have coop like Halo 1 had. Just make a copy of the main character and let two people pal around and have fun. Keep the second character out of cutscenes. I mean, literally every game where you control a character should have this option. Maybe they're doing something like that for ME3.

If it's competitive then no thanks.

it doesnt even matter what they are attempting. A RPG with 2 or more in the series turned MP game never works out well, i cant even think of one RPG turned MP game that has worked well. And they wont raise the budget for it so single player will suffer for it.

This is terrible, terrible news for Mass Effect 3. I love this series, and I'm sad that EA is trying to shoehorn it into a FPS mold!

Good lord I can't figure out if people are being sarcastic or are actually serious. Co op is always welcome, why do people assume mp must mean zomg fps shooter or that including an optional feature must mean the single player will suddenly suck.

But that won't happen. Everyone wants to try to get in on the Call of Duty action now. It's not going to work, but EA will try, and who gives a fuck if they ruin a few once-good series along the way?
