Why would you ever want to play ME3 offline? You would be ruining the very best aspects and additions that mandatory online connections in games give you. Such as um...well there are TONS you would be missing out on.

Single player only
Do not want:
a. Current save games deleted
b. Gameplay interrupted by brief cable disconnect
c. EA cloud running out of storage for my saves
d. EA server messing up

All of the above has been reported by ME3 players

I assumed once the game and extended cuts were downloaded from Origin, gameplay would remain the same. So what do I miss?

Me thinks his sarcasm meter is broken.....

Please excuse my denseness (is that a word?) but this is the first time I have dealt with Origin/EA downloads and found myself waiting for their servers/cloud...whatever. Most games were purchased on hard copy DVD/CD. I play a lot, but am very selective (Witcher series, TES series, STALKER, Wofenstein) to name a few. Have not run into this on STEAM...yet.

So my question was legit. At least I believe I found the solution as indicated above.

It works the same way as Steam is my understanding...and yes, I was being sarcastic because that is how those companies try to defend online drm as a positive useful pile of crap.

Mass Effect series is the most horribly produced set of great games ever. Can't even use gamepad on the PC version despite the game being a gamepad-designed game as consoles were lead platform... can't even get the DLC without spending an absurd coin on BioWare points. It's just a trainwreck. They made it so hard for PC gamers to enjoy these.

Thankfully I bought these one year ago? All 3 on sale for around 20.00? I have always hated DRM schemes, but the games are so good I couldn't resist. Can't remember the exact price, but it was cheap.

Yes. If you play with Origin in offline mode, the game will play in offline mode, as I recall. Also, you can disable cloud storage. Go to Application Settings in Origin, scroll down and uncheck "Enable cloud storage for all supported games". __________________

Done and thanks to all.

if you think that's bad, I'm currently playing Might & Magic Heroes 6 offline. It's from Ubisoft and if you play offline, your hero can't wield weapons. That's right, all the heroes fight with their bare hands because you can only wield weapons while online! But I still do it because fuck Uplay.

Seriously? What kind of BS is that?
That is 100% unacceptable.
This is why I haven't bought anything from Ubi for years.

Steam doesn't disconnect you from a game when your connection is down. In fact, you don't need an internet connection to play a Steam game if you played it before on the machine with an internet connection.

It depends on the game of course. Online games will require an internet connection, but it's not because of Steam, of course.

This is why I haven't bought anything from Ubi for years.
Precisely. They've been doing crap like this since forever too.
I haven't bought an Ubisoft game in forever, they're worse than Atari was, and Atari drove me round the bend.

Um Steam has disconnected me on single players games plenty of times. You're thinking of years ago - new steam settings suck ass. You have to be on line to set the offline mode or nope can't play games Both have issues.....

You don't have to be online to use Steam offline mode. Assuming the game has been properly activated previously, when Steam starts and has no internet connection it will present you with a warning. Then there will be an option to use offline mode. I do this frequently with my laptop.

I've also never been kicked out of a Steam game for losing an internet connection that wasn't the game's fault. Steam doesn't care.
