I played a bit of Andromeda but am not gonna turn it on again until all the DLC is finished, no point finishing an incomplete game until they finish it.
The story is pretty much complete (there's a clear beginning and ending). Plus the game is on hold at EA due to bad reviews, so I don't think there will be any DLCs anytime soon. So you might be waiting for a while...I played a bit of Andromeda but am not gonna turn it on again until all the DLC is finished, no point finishing an incomplete game until they finish it.
Now it is 50% off in Origin shop sale.Years. Special one off sales be a key reseller is not the same as the game dropping in price.
bought the game while it was on sale and for the most part I like it; i don't think it's quite as bad as everyone claimed.
certainly not the best in the series, might be the worst, but not a bad game per say. my only issue with it so far is the sound effects cutting in and out.
Eh... they're both RPGs, albiet in different 'timeframes' (sci-fi vs fantasy pseudo-medieval). Writing is writing. If one was a strategy game or something maybe you'd get a pass but I'd put them in the same 'literary' class (if not category).^you're comparing two completely different games...

regardless of what version I'm patched to, a lot of what people seemed to be complaining about (story, characters, locations etc.) are still there.

I don't disagree at all, I was just responding to EXCellR8's comment that TW3 and ME:A are two completely different games, and thus cannot be compared from a quality of writing perspective. They clearly can be, as you just didTW3 is way above in storyline depth compared to MEA which is the worst of the ME games storyline wise, so yes no comparison to TW3 or even the other ME games, end of the day MEA storyline is really flat and boring, rushed as well due to the deadline MEA had for release date.
Storyline in RPGs are important so lets not forget that, MEA fell short by a mile in this department.
I've tried getting into MP with this game, but I just can't do it. I spent a ton of hours in ME3MP, but the enemies are so freakin' boring (mechanically AND thematically) in Andromeda.
/sigh
My favorite part of the game:
Being led through the alien twilek looking things streets in their hidden city.
Aliens all whispering as I walk by
"I say throw it in the jail"
"I don't trust it one bit"
"How did it find us?"
Then one alien quips back to the other
"Him, not it!!!"
ughhhhh, please stahp!
I don't think I can do anymore. I may uninstall tonight. I see now what people are calling as repetitive...I got my first rescue mission last night and bleh. I don't want to keep doing that.
And this is completely personal preference, but it REALLY doesn't feel like mass effect when I talk to someone and the camera zooms down to shoulder view as the character talks to me. I'm used to the face to face switch cutscenes. This over the shoulder convo thing you sometimes run into doesn't work for me.
How can they buy back a game you added to Origin? Was this for a console?Amazon bought back my game for $24. Not bad since EA is selling it for $20 now.
Why is the NPC banter a bad thing? I like it as it adds depth to the environment.
My biggest issue with talking to people is that is my squad mates talk, and they are like 20ft away, you can't hear them at all.

I enjoyed the game and found the story pretty good. I have always thought the game was worth the entry fee. Patches have only made it better for me.
