Damn... I was considering playing the Mass Effect series, but now I don't know.
I'm still waiting for ME3 GOTY/Complete. I may be waiting a /very/ long time.
I hope it's good. That reminds me, I still need to finish ME3.
I really liked the first game. The second game was OK, but storywise, I thought it was not up to the first one. The third game, I thought the whole game was derivative and repetitive, and I must not be as forgiving as you, local, because the ending *did* spoil the entire series for me. Thus my promise to myself to never invest another dollar or minute of my time into anything related to Mass Effect.
Even though I only spend like 5 bucks each for both ME1 and ME2 and rented ME3, I never felt I got my money worth.
I found that to be a poor choice. It wasn't as immersive as II. You have Nilfgaard camping in the bottom of the map and there are no pitched battles. The main plot running around with Ciri and Dandelion was bland at best.
I too don't want save the world anymore. It a stale cliche. More plotting and intricacies with the world and politics/culture. The constant doom in games is boring. We have Greece in the real world for that.

Play it. The ride was 99.9% amazingly awesome. Just cause the ending was meh didn't ruin the entire series.
It is easy to make your own Mass Effect Trilogy GOTY: just buy the 3 games and all the DLCs. Job done.

I may be jaded though. I got my fill of "world ending catastrophe that only I can overcome" after playing FF7 at a young age. Personal stories have always held more interest.
because of her (that's right HER)
If felt like you really got to know Shepherd the leader and commander because of her (that's right HER) involvement with Cerberus and their reasons for bringing her back from the dead.
