Just a friendly warning the game just got its first hands on and a lot of games media sites warned there were performance issues with game. Given that the game just went gold its likely not all will fixed in the 3 weeks till launch even with the day one patch. It might be safe to wait a few days to be safe then pick up the game. If you have to have the preorder bonuses I think the Origin deluxe edition games with them anyway. I would hate to see people throw down money only to get another Arkham Knight, AC Unity, or Dishonored 2.

I enjoyed all 3 ME's. However, I always wait awhile on PC games to make sure all the problems are patched. Looking forward to Andromeda. One question: All my PC specs check out except RAM. I have 8 gigs...do I really need 16 gig RAM???

I've always been in the "more is better" memory club. I have three computers with 32GB of memory, two of them were my mainstream builds, so I'm on my second gaming system with 32GB. I'll probably hit 64GB on the next build. If it's affordable, I'd definitely go for 16GB if I were you. I've played games in the past with the recommended amount of memory and it can make them really choke. APB comes to mind.

Min is 8 GB, so as long as you're not planning to max everything out you might be OK. RAM would probably effect load times but I can't see it being an issue for gameplay.

Yes. When I was playing Watch Dogs 2 I clocked RAM hitting 9.5GB total out of 16GB. Andromeda may not be exactly fully open world, more hubs but still, its running off a new engine that wants RAM.

Committed a cardinal sin and pre-ordered. Nothing else looks remotely interesting in 2K17. Similar to last year. Was Watch Dogs 2 and little else.

Going to pre-order it today as well. I'm already excited, especially knowing that it is a "PC title", not a port.

The story looks kind of interesting but the dialog I've seen from the streamers who started showing some early access yesterday... ugh. Corniest of Cornsville at times.

Graphics? I am sorry and I really want to like this game.. But to me

And some places I think ME3 looks better.

Sure they got a texture upgrade which just further singles out the retarded facial anomalities, the retarded eye movements etc. Maybe if they had foregone the human race.. I dont know, dont think ill be buying this, the retarded peepers would annoy me to no end.

Pre-ordered on Xbox. Hope I don't regret not getting it on PC. Doing it so I can play with my roommate.

I have origin access and so got to play a bit of ME:A tonight. So far I think its really, really good. That is saying something as I don't get "wowed" by many games anymore. The gunplay is much improved over ME3 (though still less than ideal IMO), but the jet pack is implemented really well. Haven't gotten too far into the game but if its all the same quality as the intro portion that I think its going to have a shot at game of the year.

Graphics wise it is a HUGE step up from ME:3 IMO. I'm running it on a 1080TI and the in-game graphics are significantly better than the pre-rendered cinematics (again, IMO). There are better looking titles, sure. But not many. And while the eyes of one of the characters are not done terribly well, that issue seems to be localized to that character and is not a big deal IMO.

As for the reports of performance issues - I experienced none during my playtime tonight. Though my rig is certainly above average compared to the masses (Overclocked 6700k, 32GB ram, 1080TI). No idea how many FPS I was getting but it was smooth as silk on my gsync monitor with all the bells and whistles turned up at 1440P.

I dunno man - I played most of the intro section tonight and I didn't see much to complain about as far as animations go. The facial animations when the characters speak are pretty darn good IMO.

I think the graphics looks really good, much better than DAI. It looks like the launch trailer was from console footage, as the PC version looks significantly sharper and better than the console versions. IGN did a comparison, and if you watch it at 4K60 FPS with full screen enabled on YouTube you will see that the PC version is considerably better looking than the console versions; even the PS4 pro:

Thanks, you two just put me back on this game, will buy at launch. I loved DA1+2 and ME1,2 and 3 .. DAI put me down big time though so I am a bit on the fences...

Well I've heard a few people say there are similarities to DAI, but it's too early I think to definitively draw that conclusion. There's pretty much no chance I'll buy it in any case, when I think of mass effect I still feel the burn from 3.

Speaking of DAI, I guess I should play that seeing as how I did purchase it. When I tried to go back to play DA1 to do a full playthrough, the ultimate edition or whatever it's called wouldn't install correctly, as in it was as if I had the base game with no dlc. Never got around to fixing it.

I so want to get this game the moment it comes out; but I know I'll blast through the single player and then focus on multiplayer. And I wanted to enjoy the single player in all of its HDR glory after HDR monitors come out late this year or early next year.

Talk about a first world problem, right?

Proud to report that the game just sits at a black screen when you launch it. Others are reporting this issue on the EA forum.

It could just be space? (sry, ill see my self out)

Turns out that the Corsair CUE software causes the game not to load. Completely random, but there is a thread over on Reddit about it. Corsiar and EA are working on a fix.

I've seen a lot of the latest footage videos coming from the early access previews, and also including the official trailers... and I just cannot get over how utterly horrendous the facial animations are for the humans specifically. It doesn't seem to be too bad for the aliens though (Krogran and Turian seem 'ok'). I don't know who they've hired to do their human facial animations but I remember reading in a preview article that supposedly they had a lot of motion-capture going on for the facial animations, and that very little was done manually (except for aliens of course). Well, I cannot for the life of me actually believe that there's any motion capture because if that's the case than the real person behind the capture that day was NOT feeling good, at all.

Anyway, I am still happy, however, because I've also watched the latest videos showing the multiplayer and it's essentially ME3's MP. And because of that alone it's a Day One purchase for me. I've put about 1100 hours or so in ME3's MP and I can definitely see myself doing the exact same or even more with Andromeda's. So, ultimately, even if Andromeda's campaign somehow manages to be just as bad if not even worse than ME3's then at least I'll have its multiplayer mode to enjoy. And, really, I only had to look at about five minutes of the multiplayer footage and couldn't get rid of my ear-to-ear grin; it was an automatic "Yep, I'm in, just shut up a take my money" moment.

I think I may just be realizing right now that I really don't give a rat's ass about any more (or less) Mass Effect single-player campaigns. They could announce next year that the franchise won't go single-player ever again and just focus on multiplayer and I wouldn't feel bad about it.

I only got to play for two hours after fixing the Corsair CUE issue. Yes, the animations are questionable and the faces the Ryder's make is laughable at times, but it does seem like there will tons to do. I've been critical of a lot of games lately, so I'm going to wait to pass judgement. Zelda has really started to grow on me and hopefully this game can get a patch or two.

You'd be best served with 16GB of RAM. 8GB will not provide you with the best gaming experience anymore with modern AAA games. To be specific, ME:A employs a very sophisticated and aggressive streaming system which is able to stream in a lot of data in the background during cut scenes and what not so the game is as seamless as possible with no load times. This requires lots of RAM.

If you stay with 8GB, be prepared for lots of stuttering and lag caused by excessive storage access, as well as possible crashes:

Multiplayer should die in a fire. Scrap it and make the single player twice as big. Nothing like a meaty single player.
