Maybe there is some light at the end of the tunnel?
https://twitter.com/bioware/status/847244079159103488
It's been a week since we officially launched Mass Effect: Andromeda worldwide, and we couldn't be more excited that fans are finally experiencing everything we've worked so hard to create.

We've received quite a bit of feedback, some of it positive and some of it critical. That feedback is an important part of our ongoing support of the game, and we can't wait to share more of our immediate plans with you on Tuesday, April 4.

In the meantime, keep your feedback coming. Our team is listening, working around the clock to gather information and plan out solutions to improve and build on Mass Effect: Andromeda.

Thanks for your continued support and for joining us on this journey.

The cynic in me says they will announce some patches and maybe a small content bonus like a MP dlc. I doubt they'll do much about the animations because of the difficulty fixing them or do anything about some of the instances where the writing quality takes a nose dive. Fixing broken quests and maybe tweeking the faces a bit seems realistic. That said is there anything more annoying than an announcement of an announcement?

I love the game. I really dig the story. I haven't hit any bugs that I have noticed. Nothing that has stopped gameplay. Game runs smoothly but at 30-44 fps. Normally this would bother me but the game runs smooth, looks fantastic and I never experience any stuttering or slow down. I'm playing on Ultra settings 4k and HDR.

How? I am running an 8 core ryzen 16gb ram and a 1080 and my rig can barely see 35 FPS at times.

I am also having an about lagfree experience, there is hiccups but nothing that compares to the retarded anims. 1080p + haswell 4770 + 780gtx + 32G's ram, most things maxed.

I don't know how to answer that. I'm running a 6600K @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4, SSD, GTX 1080. My fps range from 30-44 during gameplay but it never drops below 30 fps. I think the game was designed to be a 30 fps kinda game at 4k so it runs smooth and plays great.

What is your CPU clocked at? Maybe that makes the difference. I hear the Ryzen don't overclock well and the game only uses up to 4 cores...so...I dunno.

So, it sounds like most are pretty much digging this game as far as gameplay goes? Is it the ~same grindiness as DA:I wrg to fetch quests and the like? I actually don't mind those too much, as long as it isn't obsessive. I'm the type that likes to run around environments anyway just to check things out, so if I have a task to accomplish while doing that, all the better.

Once the new Ryzen/Vega box is complete, c. July, 2017, I might be picking this one up.

I like it but one thing that bugs me is that it takes so long to travel from planet to planet and get into the action. Feels like being level 15 in vanilla WoW trying to get to places without a mount.

Digging in further, the plot is turning out to be surprisingly decent. Game also looks pretty good:

No issues with a basic locked 7600 non K. Some random dips to 50ish but have not seen drops below 50 FPS. Still in 5 years I expected more than a single alien race and no random planets to explore - you can only explore and colonise what the devs built in, nothing more. There is also no mini RTS type outpost building thing which would be nice (you are a Pathfinder and do need to manage resources) just the usual consolized click here and go there and select from this barebones menu. Speaking of which, the menu controls were not built for mouse and keyboard. They were barely an afterthought. Its not bad, just average or just above. It really is time for a new game paradigm . . . .

Oh I really enjoy the story. It just keeps getting better and better! This was totally worth the buy in my book.

Story is fine, only good thing about the game, lots of bugs, I had a load freeze while it was loading a cut scene on a planet, happened three times on Hexus while travelling as well.

I do hope they are fixed fast, compared to DA-I this game is far more buggy and not as stable with regards to those lockups.

Some bugs can be fixed by reload or an earlier save but not all of them.

I have a load of hours into this now and not once have I experienced this sort of bug. The game has never crashed, froze or anything.

To be honest it is only MEA doing it, all my other games do not crash at all, I'm doing a repair just to be sure the game is not corrupted.

Others have reported issues but then normal for a new game like MEA.

I did a repair ,too early to tell on stability, found another bug, was on Kadara and had the falling through ground, very weird, guess have to wait for the patches to arrive to fix the various issues.

I have gotten past the odd animations and quirks and really starting to enjoy this game, dare say more than Zelda. There is just a ton to do and explore, plus the stories aren't half bad. I do like the fact that you are pretty much dumped into a setting and have to figure everything out including what has been happening on the Nexus.

There are 4 levels of tasks; Priority Ops, Allies and Relationships, Heleus Assignments, and Additional Tasks. I've all but ignored the "Additional Task", they are in the too grindy category for me. We're talking things like search the planet for dead bodies to scan. All the other tasks though are fine and no more or less grindy then the other Mass Effects.

I like it but one thing that bugs me is that it takes so long to travel from planet to planet and get into the action. Feels like being level 15 in vanilla WoW trying to get to places without a mount.

Yeah, biggest complaint I have too. It's always been this way though so I don't know if it's just some dumb technical reason or what. At the very least it would be nice if you could board the Tempest without leaving the planet.

Overall I really like the game. Story is interesting with nice surprises and just the right amount of the previous games woven in. There's also some good Easter eggs like SpaceX Falcon Heavy model.

The animation stuff has been so overblown... yes some of them are weird but at worst they are comical and easy to overlook.

Ryder's personality is a train wreck... he's way too nice, a real chummy fellow that nothing ever seems to faze him. He has four types of responses to everything - kindness, semi-serious kindness, goofy kindness, and "by the book" kindness. You can't be mean to anyone... being stranded in a foreign galaxy where the plan has gone dreadfully wrong and your supplies are dwindling has never felt so light hearted and care free because Ryder is always so damn chipper and happy go lucky all the time. He doesn't take anything seriously... so why should I?

And then there's the writing, it's a snoozefest. It's MMO quality, just-give-me-the-quest-already type of stuff. Some people may feel Mass Effect has always been at that level, but it's never been this bad.

I sort of feel for the original Mass Effect developers to see their franchise receive this type of treatment...

Any of you guys playing multiplay?..Did about eight matches so far, only had one bug , sound cut out completely on one map, I had to restart MAE after to get sound back.

Seems I'm finding bugs everyday, if I'm honest this game is probably the buggiest game I've had for ages, however still getting some enjoyment out of the game. Shame some of the bugs got through beta testing.

MP in MEA is harder then ME3 Multiplay.

After 25 hours, I've realized it's not getting any better so I have dropped the difficulty down one notch to Normal and am going to blast through the content just so I can see the ending. This is not a good game, it's not bad either but it's ultimately not worth the time investment needed and I could only recommend it to people that like the multiplayer.

The writing is flat, DREADFULLY flat. So much so that there is literally nothing and no one to care about... Dare I contrast it to Witcher 3, a game where I sat hanging on every word the Bloody Baron had to say. I have not found one single thing in Andromeda that could get me to care even a little. The main quest? Nope. Your squadmates? Negative. The Angaran people? Uh-uh. The Kett? mega-lulz. There is no nuance, no tact, no subtlety. The characters hit you over the head with their intentions. This is something Bioware usually hits out of the park but here they've struck out looking.

There's fun run n' gun gameplay, great graphical fidelity, and solid controls to keep it competitive, but those just aren't enough to get this above a 6/10. And don't get me started on the menus/ui.

Ah well, I'll finish it so I know how it ends but this is such an utterly forgettable title it's almost scary.

Anim bugs are getting to me.. sometimes it happens to me and im like this floatation device until i restart.
Also, at the galaxy map "I've found an anomaly -somewhere-" yet the -somehwere- planet is never there.. wtf?
Doing priops missions, they branch so much that i gives you options to complete other storylines before they even begin .. I see myself rejecting ops cause I think maybe i'll catch them later in the "real story line" and not ad-hoc just cause they're shown on my map right now..

edit : i've been hit with the 'autoselect' dialog bug some times now.. here is a new one, dialog cuts off ½ way thorugh .. now I am missing half the story too..

It reminds me a lot of DA:I, just with guns and less variety of enemies. Combat is fast, and you move around quite a bit. Your squad mates do a pretty good job of helping out.

So far I am enjoying it quite a bit, but I have never played Mass effect, so this is all new to me. Probably why I am liking it, compared to some other people.

I don't recall any major bugs or glitches so far, but I am on ps4. Haven't really noticed the animation issues everyone was complaining about.

It started out pretty good, but now I am at the part where I can choose to do the main story, or start exploring planets and doing all the minor side quests, so its slowing way down as I grind away exploring the planets doing all the little quests people have. Some are ok, some are like go to these spots and place these scanners.

Main complaint is lack of 'evil/selfish' dialogue choices, lack of inventory, and some of the side missions are pretty repetitious. Like the combat, and like the story (so far). The crew members are kinda bland, except for PeeBee and Drack.

They are both good games, but so far I prefer DA:I over ME:A. Too be fair to ME:A though, I really liked DA:I.

yea those faces are rough... but I still might need to try this game. maybe if I squint through all of the dialogue scenes it'll be a bit less hilarious

I was over at MEA forums, a lot are moanning about how bad multiplay is balance wise, almost a full clip into one enemy at bronze level is just crazy, need to stop having the weapons fire like pea shooters and let them do decent damage, the black widow I hear is nerfed as well in MEA as a sniper rifle, it was a bit of a shock for me going from ME3 MP to MEA MP, a lot harder overall.
