So was playing .. had a bug , wanted to restart and now theres an update .. yet nothing happens, got a button that says "pause update"... I love Origin. I love EA too.
Those screens look alot better, seems like the got light sources under control in those shots at least.

It's even more impressive when you see it in motion:

40 hours in+ this is pretty good, but I can't help but think this could have been amazing but instead an untested team settled on passable. Strongly recommend the sweeper rifle for soldiers along with the initiative (patchwork) armor which gives extra ammo. I am playing at casual seeing as I want story not dificulty. The crafting is impressive, there is a stack of armor and weapons to customize, although they only really matter at higher difficulties. As I've said, this is a missed opportunity - could have had a stack of actual planets and races to interact with but it almost seems pared back. 50

I'm using advanced N7 armour, mainly because of the biotic bonus stats since I use a lot of that in battles, helmets looks cool and
probably would of saved his life if he had been wearing a N7 helmet like his father"
, as to weapons just an advanced Valkyrie assault rifle, which is pretty good, pistol as backup is a Phasteon. Never had any issue with battles, ammo seems to last long enough to get to the various ammo points on maps etc...

I'm currently at level 74 and have about 170 unused skill points which seem to go wasted. Having only three main skills is annoying, sure you have your favourites, but most players including myself will just max three favourite skills and use them all the time. My Biotics, pistol and assault rifle skill stats are maxed as well, plus a few more.

Still a few bugs appearing, one is crafting the nomad shield regenerator, must of made about six of those, not showing completed in quest log.

Like, a billion times better. I'm still shocked that the original made it out of beta testing, but this shows that they actually gave enough of a crap to fix it, which is great.

I completely understand not going through every single conversation and scripting the animation. What I don't understand is why you don't do a scripting pass on the main quest conversation animations. The patched animations above are fantastic. If they had taken another six months for polish and a bit more freedom in the CC there wouldn't be much to complain about.

Problem is it was only one problem of many, the game should of been delayed and had more polish, even now it still needs more patching, great case of release now patch later.

Agreed, but I can't even count how many games were simply released as-is in a pseudo-beta state, then never touched again. I'm glad *something* was addressed.

sigh this game was so incredibly rushed, it even made ubisoft games look polished.

I was running into a LOT of errors, mostly the ones where it said my GPU's ran out of memory and would crash every time i went to talk to a NPC.

It seemed tho this patch fixed this issue.

Also the eyes... OMG, every NPC i talked to felt like they were lying to me from the eyes constantly bouncing around all over the place. It made me want to pick the renegade response to everything with basically a big middle finger going DIE, rather then the paragon response.

The female characters in this mass effect are also the most ugly out of the three.
The first one had awesome female leads, infact Samara is still probably my most favorite Asari where peebee and lexi have absolutely no chance if we were to draw a comparison.

I am enjoying the game tho.
The combat feels fresh, having the ability to go either combat / tech / biotic.

I will probably do a second play though after i finish my first one with both nvidia and bioware fixing the game so i dont see those stpid memory crashes.

Unable to play lots of bugs, waiting for the patch :?

Try this,
PC USERS! HAVING TROUBLE LAUNCHING YOUR GAME AFTER THE 1.05 UPDATE?
Answers.ea has three potential workarounds:

1) Right click on the game tile in Origin and select 'Update Game'
2) Click 'Origin" and select 'Go Offline' and try launching again
3) Delete the Andromeda .exe files and then right click on the game tile and select 'Repair Game'

Getting the animations right still won't fix the anemic writing. Painfully dull is the only way I can describe it. I could never sit through that nonsense again, so I won't be replaying it unlike all the previous ME's before it.

Great combat, phenomenal visuals at 4K with HDR, deep customization. There's a lot here, Andromeda's not a bad game at all.

But this ain't Mass Effect when the script and dialogue is this dreadful.

After patch I now CTD in MP every single match. It works fine if I host but no one seems to be able to join and I can't solo past round 1. Guess my MP days are over until this gets fixed.

This armor is excellent for moar ammo, plus has anyone taken down any Architects?

The weapons that just overheat are also great, no need to worry about ammo.

Did an architect a couple days ago. Just a lot of not staying in one spot while shooting.

My experience with arch...

Shoot core with sniper....
Run... and hide...
Shoot mouth with shot gun...
Chase...
Shoot core with sniper...
Shoot mouth with shot gun..
Chase...
(worry about running out of ammo, oh wait i see a refill.... run to refill)
Repeat series one more time... and then run to mouth to inject code and watch it fly out into outer space...

I'd add an extra point to the overall score due to the ally missions, plus the exploration and crafting isn't too shabby:

I finished the game already, seems short to me and I was taking my time.

Think I'll stick with multiplay for awhile.

I just got the game yesterday and, after reading online that the animations were totally messed up I didn't honestly think they were that bad. However, every single time I approach a character it seems like they never see me coming and the discussion always begins with them slowly turning to face me. I find that quite odd.

I played a lot yesterday and when I faced off against that architect I got my ass handed to me. I tend to ignore the upgrades/crafting but gather loads of materials and then only craft when I see something I really like. I beat the architect with the starting armor (initiate?) but now have Kett III pieces and some other stuff too.

Honestly I really am enjoying the game but on the 'rushed' feel - there's something that I have against these exploration type games and that's when quests bug. I did a quest on Eos that involves going from point a to point b and then finally to a place with a gravity well..facing a new enemy...lots of treasure...and the quest keeps saying I need to find this journal and it simply isn't there.

There's a bug in a reassignment quest too where I'm meant to talk to X but no dialogue wheel ever appears it's just 'hi there, i'll leave you to it'. Or, if a dialogue wheel appears it has no option to advance the quests.

The thing with this game is I do find it beautiful and fun, but it triggers some OCD thing in me where I get really frustrated having quests outstanding in my log even though they are actually done.

I have liked every mass effect game and I like this one too. I'm about to go towards my first Ark I think, so I'm pretty early in the game still, and hope it does take a bit of a more dramatic turn at some point.

Heading into 60 hours and I suspect the final showdown at Meridian and honestly it is passable or 6/10. The writing is rubbish to be honest, Ryder is too flippant (which is still the best of the worst response choices), the "big decisions" are random and don't matter, and only some of the companion quests are actually interesting. There is a tie in towards Shepard plot wise but overall the plot is just standard genre tropes this time with Kett instead of Reapers, and the Reapers at least were written well.

In addition:

-> The outpost thing is so random. You set up the first outpost and had no choice in the rest. In addition there are no meaty interesting side quests in the outposts
-> Even though its Addison's job, it would be nice to have some mini-RTS base building bits and resource allocation thrown in
-> You have one (boring) friendly race and nothing else in an entire galaxy. After 5 years of development!
-> You have another generic Big Bad to fight
-> The planets are so so empty. Very little lore. Or point.
-> The side quests are middling at best and fetch quests at worst
-> The entire game is a missed opportunity. This could have a huge epic that gave you the same sense of wonder as Mass Effect 1 but instead it plays it safe and stuffs it with busy work instead
-> Vaults get boring fast. You have 5 (mostly empty) planets with five vaults to go through. Eh
-> Five planets and five more missed opportunities. There are some interesting bits like the Collector on Kadara and some of the sidequests (the drug one) but otherwise meh
-> The AVP is so random. You pick random "perks" based off random pods/people. What? And those perks are mostly meh
-> The dev and reseatch trees are impressive as are managing all those minerals, the customization really is impressive
-> Except that partially falls down as Ryder has 3 off duty uniforms and you can only change the colors

If you are a fan and you miss this you won't be missing much. After the Witcher 3 and expansions any RPG even this RPG lite/third person shooter has a huge bar to reach and it failed. I won't be playing this again. Period.

the description is pretty accurate - bad vs not bad all depends on your expectations..
if you know this is a console oriented third person shooter with adventure story set in different space opera settings and want to play it -> you may love it. otherwise, it is not half as bad as people slam it , they just built themselves a fetish to worship in particular IP space and feel almost hurt when it does not come out example they way they wanted it.

so to pass time while other RPGs come out (Kingdom Come Deliverance, Mount and Blade 2, etc) , it is more than 'ok'. the story has good moment, cinematics are good, exploration aspect is not bad either. on the bad side, there is very little that is left from RPG in their attempt to simplify it to oblivion (you don't need to read or listen to when NPC says in 90% of them knowing that you will be presented with one choice at the end 'yes , I take the quest', 'no, I don't', and then have a quest map handhold you through you telling you exactly what to do and where), controls are extremely console oriented and you can easily see the market their were shooting for. writing is of cause nowhere near Witcher 3 where I actually cared about what was written in both main game and its great expansions. attempt to be ultra PC to overcompensate whatever they are overcompensating for, also makes you shrug. when they attempt to turn entertainment into some political message it is simply not fun to participate it. if I really hate myself and my free time and want to listen to political platform I would turn on CNBC or something similar with moving heads preaching at me.
