Mass Effect Andromeda (2016)

It's boring. They filled it to the brim with pointless fetch missions. I've got half way through and could not stand playing it anymore (that was last summer). One day maybe I'll finish it.

For me it's not even the technical stuff. It's EA. They ruined the Mass Effect setting after buying Bioware.

So to you, Mass Effect 2 and 3 were both "ruined"? To me, 2 was better than 1, and 3 was better than 2.

Yes. Mass Effect 1 was awesome, one of my favorite games ever and is the only one from the series that I still replay from time to time. 2 started going down the wrong path, most notably with the boring Collector enemies as well as the focus on humans when it was the vast, diverse galaxy that made ME1 so interesting. 3 was even worse than 2.

The exact same thing happened to Dragon Age. It's not a coincidence, it's just EA.

I'm on my second run on it now on Insanity. I did get it a few months ago and got turned off by the poor animations. Once all the patches were up, it was a more enjoyable game, at least the animations weren't bothering me enough to finish the game.

Yeah actually playing through a third time now. First run was completionist, just figuring stuff out, etc. Second and third runs are just to make different decisions with a different play style and only doing the core content.

It's really a pretty decent game with great gameplay and a serviceable story that sets up the new galaxy. Too bad it got torpedoed due to a shoddy launch.

After playing ME:A I'm having a really hard time playing Dragon Age Inquisition due to the glacial pace or even Witcher 3 due to solidly mediocre combat.

The game in its current state is good. Had it been released 6 months later, it would have been great. But once people start to criticize a game, everybody jumps on the bandwagon to say "oh, I hate it too!!".

I honestly think it's a terrible game. I stopped playing it after about 15 hours. Maybe it picks up after that.

Dull characters. Boring worlds. Boring progression. Uninteresting story. It was just lifeless.

Finally got this game and played about 30 hours. I cant get a multiplayer game for Apex misions- each time I try I am alone. So, Guess that dead. Only payed $10 -so no complaints. Its is pretty good game for $10, so glad I waited until the game animations were improved, etc.

You could probably still get regular co-op games. The Apex missions would have less people playing.

Honestly, I think I played 2-3 apex missions, just had my squads do the rest of them.

For $10 bucks, its an awesome game.

I re-played the game again recently after all the patches were done, and while it was 'okay' I still had a tough time thinking of this as a Mass Effect game. It was a fairly fun game in its own right, but do I regret buying it day 1 for full price? Yes, and not for the financial impact - but from a principled position re: did I get what I paid for. I don't think so.

I keep thinking it is going to be finished. I have a completionist personality issue- LOL. So did everything I could before a mission (thinking it was the final push/battle), that ended up to just be a pre-emping to another mission - and it opened up a few other missions. I then completed all those new missions and then went to the "remnant base" ( no spoilers) figuring it was the final battle - only to find out that is NOT the final battle/mission. So , I guess and wanting this game to be done? or what?

You get those stupid little missions even after the actual end. That's all they could come up with. Garbage story and characters, trillions of fetch missions.

Finished it up- very good for $10. But I would have been very irritated if I had spend $60. Ending was nice, I did not pursue any romances- I think they made the characters terrible unattractive both physically and mentally to begin with. So why worry about "love" when you trying to save all sentient life forms in the Andromeda Galaxy from a fate worse than death - maybe I am just picky or getting old. LOL

Even though I payed full price (I pre-ordered it), I put 80 hours into the game. If I put 80 hours into a game, I am very rarely sad about putting $60 into it. Hard to find good entertainment for only 75 cents an hour.

I done almost all missions - I only have a few incomplete "collect 10 pink data pads" type of missions - (~120 hours in total). I kept hoping the story will be good. It wasn't.

That is a very good point. I would probably have been so irritated within the first few hours if I had paid $60 - that I would not have continued.

I played in the open beta/trial/whatever. Was disappointed but still held out hope that something wasn't included in the free trial.

Bought the game for $20 something...NOPE. Still bad. Got to the ice planet and stopped playing/uninstalled. It's a mess.

*shrug* I liked Voeld. But understand not everybody will like a certain game, but its no where near as bad as some people make it out to be. There are significantly worse games out there that don't catch half the flack ME:A does. I mean, just like at the horrible state of PUBG, yet millions play it every day.

That came down to the unskilled team that EA put in charge of them. The woman they used for the facial modeling was very pretty. Whom ever was in charge of the females just did a terrible job. And it was fixed to some extent after the patches, but I used the character creator to create my own which looked fine.
