Those numbers look weird. A 9600GT shouldn't be faster than a 9800GTX. 9800GTX and 8800GT/512 should be pretty close to each other.

The game was developed for the 360, which means that it was developed to use ATI's 1+4 stream shaders, so it could be faster on that platform. It may be the first PC game to be optimized for that type of shader (versus the general nVidia shader).

Yea either these tests are simply messed up for some reason or nVidia really needs to change their drivers for this game. My feeling is that these numbers are just plain wrong.

Ditto. Interesting reviews. Guess my 8800GT won't do 1680x1050 at high details? Ouch. I feel like the 8800GT got dated fast. Eh, I'll probably play it at 1280x720 on my TV anyway.

Who says it won't? Unless I'm reading the table wrong, it gets 29 min fps on max 16xAF. That's entirely playable for this type of pausable RPG.

I'm scared for my HD2600, but I'm prepared for 1024x768 or lower. It's got me this far so...

This game was amazing. The blend of 3rd person shooter, tactical, rpg elements & SIIIIIIIIICK graphics made me beat this in about 3 or 4 days. Story, writing & voice is all top notch as well. Makes most movie's scripts look like shit. Don't skip on this.....

Early metacritic reviews 90+

General consensus thus far
1) if you've played the 360 version, don't bother with this
2) if you haven't played it yet, the pc version is superior

If you're referring to the DRM, there's no way to really tell yet as not enough people have it. If it in fact becomes a problem we'll probably know within a day or two. As with any DRM, there will be paying customers who will have problems. That's guaranteed.

Yeah. I think I might go pick up a copy and keep it sealed till I hear more. I just checked and all the local places are sold out except for one.

I picked up a copy at BB, but I'm not going to open it until I learn more about the DRM.

Or has anyone found it for less/same?

Yep, picked mine up at CC for $39.99. Its in their weekly flier that it'll be in-store by 2pm today. You have to go up front to CS and they pull it straight from the box in the warehouse.

Game installed fine, just like every other game I've bought and installed in the last few years. DRM checks once online, then doesn't even require the disc to be in the drive again.

I was thinking of just driving down to the store but then I read the other thread and the bioware forums and all of the issues

http://forums.anandtech.com/me...=2192024&enterthread=y

Not sure what I am going to do now, but seriously - this won't be the first game I didn't buy because of DRM. BioShock anyone?

EDIT: I will say that I called the CC right by my house and they told me they didn't even have stock yet. I'd say maybe if you can, just drive to your store if they claim the same - since its probably like chizow said here and the CC people just don't know their not on the shelves yet.
