Though I agree with some of the above posters in that if rich people in America started get shot more regularly we MIGHT actually see real change.
A while back researchers tried to understand defensive gun use better and so they had gun owners who said they had used their guns defensively describe their actions. What they found was that even in their own retelling, which would presumably be the most favorable version of events to the gun owner, a large percentage of the described defensive actions were actually crimes in and of themselves.I honestly dont know because I wasnt there.
Not even Fox News runs stories about armed citizens stopping crime. That's usually local news only and based on evidence (not speculation) the people stopping crime are a tiny fraction of all gun owners and very insignificant compared to people murdering for fun, or profit.
I'd like to remind everyone we only hear about mass shootings because they are news worthy. Routine drug shootings in cities like Baltimore don't even make the news any more.
