I just think people shouldn't put all of their faith in one website as the one and only source of facts.

I mean, seriously? https://www.snopes.com/lost/mistered.asp

"and since the series was filmed in black and white, the viewing audience couldn’t tell the difference."

So there's a difference between black and white stripes or something? *scratchs head*

Do you really think anyone sane would think that Mr Ed was a Zebra? Look down at the bottom of the page and click on the link;

More information about this page

".....You’ve just had an encounter with False Authority Syndrome.

Everything in this section is a spoof. Mister Ed was no more a zebra than the origin of the nursery rhyme Sing a Song of Sixpence had anything to do with pirates on a recruiting drive. As for Mississippi’s doing away with teaching fractions and decimals in its school systems because kids find them too hard to master, that’s no more true than Kentucky’s imposing a licensing fee on uses of its name, Edgar Rice Burroughs naming his celebrated apeman after the city he lived in (other way around, actually), George Bernard Shaw penning a poorly-attended play called Closed For Remodeling, passengers on the Titanic viewing a 1912 silent version of The Poseidon Adventure while their doomed ship was sinking out from under them, the design of California’s flag being the result of “pear” being taken for “bear,” or mobile homes having gained their name from the city in which they were first manufactured."

"What is the point of the Lost Legends section, you say? Is it merely an exercise in creative writing, perhaps a way to blow off steam when the pressure of having to be mind-numbingly factual about everything gets to us? Does it provide us with a gratuitous opportunity to guffaw at how easily folks are duped into believing outrageous things? Or are we suicidally intent upon giving our valued readers good reason to doubt the credibility of everything else on the site?"

Good grief. Total waist of HTML space.

There’s a difference between getting a story wrong every once in a while and getting it wrong half the time. Fox News is the least accurate news media source out of all the major news networks and those sites you are quoting and linking are just plain rubbish.

First step to a cure when you have False Authority Syndrome is to admit you have False Authority Syndrome. By blaming the web site for your mistake I don't think you are on the road to recovery.

Fox News is the least accurate

As a Fox News viewer since they've been on the air since I was in high school, I highly doubt that. For one, they have a pretty damn good "brain room." They have a very good set of diverse and well respected journalists. Where else can you get as varied of opinion from Geraldo Rivera to Charles Krauthammer, and other great talent who know their shit other than fling it?

I think the problem here is that you have political motivations. Never mind the fact Fox News beats the competition all the time. http://www.adweek.com/tvnewser/fox-news-remains-the-most-watched-network-on-basic-cable/345163

I'll remember that next time you blame the U.S President for some small asinine BS.

You are the first person I've encountered who has asserted that Fox News is a decent source. The score is something like 500 against to 1 for.

Once again.

I looked up the specs on that battery, it's description is accurate in that it is a very small non-rechargable battery meant to power very low powered things like RFID chips. So no chargers exist for that particular battery because you can not recharge them and it's probably the last battery you'd use in something like communications gear.

I've told him that. You've told him that. Maybe if enough people tell him that, he will listen.

Yeah but I took it a step further and looked up the actual battery. Like I said, even if was rechargeable it's the last battery you would use in something like communications gear since it's intended use are things like RFID chips which have slightly different power requirements than a cell phone...

Most watched doesn’t mean most accurate and it definitely doesn’t mean least biased.

This is a problem in general now days in this age of missinformation. We don't know what to trust and what to not trust because most sources are biased or sometimes even completely wrong. There needs to be a better vetting process for news agencies to make sure the information they broadcast or post is actually accurate. There are even some news agencies that actually make up articles as they go along. Satire is a whole other thing, that's fine, because it's meant to be humrous, but there are news sites that actually publish completely false info but make it as if it was the truth. If we can't trust the news then how do we know what's going on. I think it's a huge issue now days.

Most mainstream news outlets despite what the some on the extreme right says are trustworthy. False news is pointed out by other news organizations and that looks bad. No reputable news agency wants that so they strive to tell the truth in their stores. Sites like Info world and Breitbart are not taken seriously except by the lunatic fringes because of their constant political editorializing and zealotry.

The only good media is a free media. Any "vetting" system is apt to be exploited by those who would try to control the media. Who is to decide what the standard for telling the truth is when "Truth" itself is a somewhat subjective concept depending on the perspective of the reporter.

Smart consumers of news will always consider the perspective of the reporter or reporting organization. Watching the news with your brain turned off is and always has been the real problem.

Yeah I guess that is true, there is a fine line there. Don't want to break freedom of expression even if that expression may be false/made up like some stories are. I guess that's why we have things like Snopes.

Yeah, here in the U.S. that would be the destroy Trump media of MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC up to and including ESPN which shouldn't be talking about political shit at all!

But I digress. When you turn on the news all you hear is political shit. Sometimes listing to a shortwave broadcast is more refreshing.

Really? What is so enlightening about it? Do you have any examples?

I'd wager dollars to doughnuts it's just because their pockets aren't deep enough and they simply aren't worth the resources to sue, not to mention they are only "guilty" of selling a product that the government explicitly said was legal to sell. If they had deep enough pockets to throw money at the problem to make it go away I guarantee they'd still be in the lawsuit.
