OK, I scanned the article. Reading these kinds of articles in-depth is kind of pointless for me to do, since much of the language is over my head. I understand the PC2100 memory bandwith thing. OK, but they seem to be making a big deal over the fact it has integrated video. It's an MX, for goodness sake! (Not dissing MX owners here...we're just talking. ) Now, if they integrated say a GF2 Ultra or even a GF3, that would be something to get excited about.

It appears to me that this chipset has lots to offer (aimed primarily at the business world, right?) but for gamers, we'd still need an external video solution. I.E. AGP card.

I'm sure I'm missing something (a lot?). I've only had 1/2 cup o java....could someone break the benefits of the NForce down into &quot;English&quot; and edumacate (sic) me? Thanks AT! Have a nice day.

Not, the 64-bit version is MX performance.
The 128-bit performance is very close to a GTS. We presume.
More DX8 compliant too, I hope.

The nForce MCP-D made Creative's EMU10K1 look really bad, and I think NVidia will help AMD to push their Athlon processors to corporate market. Starting from NVidia themself.

It has AGP slot. The integrated MX is nice when you need a spare display card, or doing DUAL HEAD stuff. It doesn't hurt to have one, right?

Hey bluemax, the IGP DOES integrate a MX core, just with memory interface different from standalone MX200/MX/MX400.

Ok, thanks for the explanation. I missed the part that it's a 128-bit graphics engine. As Ahfung said, it is nice to have onboard video in the event that your main card fails. Ha! LOL! Or in my case, you give your Voodoo3 PCI to your GF because her AGP slot is dead! I now use the onboard video my Dell has, when I do use my Dell, which is rarely. I too anxiously await AT's torture test/benchmarking-fest of this chip when it comes out. Mike out.

i suppose having double the bus @128 wont give you double therperformance of the chip would it? Its essentially an MX type of stuff. So what wil be the main difference between the 64 and 128?

Fkloster and Deg thats the questions i have in my mind too. The rep that nvidia has for dropping drivers last 2 generations of their Geforce line, How can WE the consumer be reassured that they don't leak a new beta BIOS every week for the next 6 months on release of that board? To me this looks like it can the 2nd Generation to the X-Box(too many intergrations and questionable performance factors)....IMHO anyways

oh yeah, just b4 i go... What exactly does the chip do aprt from graphics wise? does it control the memory as well? does this chip function the same was as the 760..815.. from AMD and Intel?

Damn... Use a GF3 core and a couple sticks of 266Mhz DDR, the combo would have made $50K graphic work stations cried for mercy

The integrated sound looks promising, but I'll still keep my Live! for SoundFont support. DLS just doesn't compare to SoundFonts yet, maybe in version 3.
