Be forewarned this is written by a guy that is part of "Doctors for Responsible Gun Ownership". While I'm sure that'll make most who have tunnel vision on an issue disregard it because it's from a pro-gun place, he does have the correct approach in listing all the sources of his claims right after he makes them. Which is better than most news outlets these days.
While I'm not against any of those options, the phrase "good start" implies to me that even more than what you posted is wanted. Why not cut to the chase and start with what's wanted? Otherwise it sounds like people are trying to ban all guns and are going the long route with a death of a thousand paper cuts.

Aside from the obvious issues with your source, why do you think the CDC's only mandate is to combat biological creatures that cause disease? The CDC is the most prominent Public Health organization in this country. Guns are, quite obviously, a huge public health issue.

Contrary to what’s been reported in many media accounts, the D.C. March for Our Lives crowd was not primarily made up of teenagers. Only about 10 percent of the participants were under 18. The average age of the adults in the crowd was just under 49 years old, which is older than participants at the other marches I’ve surveyed but similar to the age of the average participant at the Million Moms March in 2000, which was also about gun control.
Interesting tidbit. Only 10% of those attending the D.C.march were teenagers.
