Massive STATS DISCREPENCY 7-15-00

My stats on Dnet:5,016 blks

My stats on Mika:8387 blks

I know Mika flushes a little early but on Mika's at 2330 I had 8330. Where are my 3371 other blks? `

I would like an answer to this eitjher from Mika or Dnet. If it is because Mika's flush occured right on the turn over time, fine they will show up tomorrow on Dnet. If this is a Dnet problem then I personally want an explanation and to be told what is going to be done about it-both now and in the future.

I would suggest all members check their stats.

Mika shows me as submitting 649.10 G yesterday.
DNet shows me as submitting ZERO yesterday.

I also encountered a stats problem, I did about 1100 and dnet shows about 650, This does not surprise me, if anyone remembers when CSC came out we had big bad stat blackouts, and even bigger discrepencies. This probably wont be the last, maybe it will happen a few more times next week, but we USUALLY get our blocks registered after awhile.

People have been talking about Mika's not sending out blocks but can connect fine to DNet. Sounds like what happened about 2 weeks back where the problem is on our proxy and not DNet.

Mika's has been down until this morning guys, so none of your blocks got sent until now, hence the stats descrepency.

That thread has nothing in it about an inability at Mika's to flush to Dnet; just the problem of us fetching and flushing using Mika's.

If you can't flush or fetch from Mika's, it's because Mika's can't connect to D.net. So no work gets fetched to D.net either.

Virge, In my case Mika was up when I flushed, and for at least about an hour after that. I'm anxious to see if my blocks show up today.
Another topic but related. I know that the RR's flush to Mika so that we can have combined stats. Is there a way for them to send their logs to Mika instead? Then they could flush and fetch directly from DNet, but we would have combined stats.

Yet another related topic. Are there any plans afoot to 'purge' the invalid OGR stats from Mikas. Process the log file to remove the pre 4009 clients?

You'll have to talk to Mika about purging the logs Joe O, as that's not something I can take care of. But as for the log merging, we do intend to do that in the future, once the website is up, and we can come up with a fool-proof method to send and merge the logs.

By the way, the blocks I submitted directly to Dnet don't show up in Mika's database right?

Yes my blocks have shown up on DNet.
Eug, Yes any work sent directly to DNet will not show up on Mika's stats. That's why the RR's point to Mika.
Lordugh,You're right, this is very much like CSC. What worries me is that it is a relatively short contest like CSC. This means that DNet will begin to recycle blocks fairly quickly. We can't have too large an inventory of OGR blocks in the PProxies, or our buff-in.OGR files. Toward the end of CSC I had to get only 1 Days worth of blocks or too many of them would be done by someone else before I could. I kept a week of RC5 blocks on hand so that if I ran out of CSC blocks, I would do RC5 blocks until I could connect again.

Good point. The OGR stats main page on D.net doesn't seem to indicate any kind of a percentage done however so we have no way of knowing how quickly the project is progressing.
