Exactly what part of master and slave refers to the white man? And why would using a different designation denigrate anyone? On a different note, why exactly is the secondary drive called a slave? I just do not see the connection.
The secondary drive is called the slave because it is completely subordinate to the master drive. If both drives are sending data along the IDE chain at the same time, the master drive will have superiority over the slave drive. According to the dictionary, a slave is a "being/device which is subordinate to a master." So the designation of the secondary drive as "slave" is perfectly correct.
