Matrix: help me understand this..

the matrix must have teams of programers, it just rewrites the code so Neo doesn't have all the power he used to, but he will figure out new ways to screw the system

That's what makes the entire movie so fun. It is the mind that controls the actions and forms what it believes to be reality. Neo had enough control or what-have-you to realize that and conscieniously manipulate his "mind-reality".

Yeah, I'm kinda wondering that myself. You can tell that the movie wasn't supposed to have sequels. Let's hope they come up with a kickass reason.

because it's easy to forget. it's like if someone told you that the real world doesn't exist and you are dreaming right now. ok fine, you can believe it for a while, but sooner or later you're gonna start believing everything is real. and then back, and then slip, etc. classic problem in philosophy.

Where does it say Trinity would fall in love with a dead man? Watched it last night, and that did not happen.

I have heard somewhere, and I tend to agree with this thinking, that Neo dies, is resurrected, and then "transcends" the Matrix, almost as a Christ figure.

Now I don't understand how there really can be 2 more movies if in the end of the first one he seems to be God-like?! Why would he be dodging bullets and stuff in the next movie if he can stop them in the first one?? It just doesn't make sence, unless they did actually come out with a patch for the servers finally and even remembered to upgrade them?

Perhaps Neo gets shutout from the Matrix (meaning he can't go back in somehow)?

go to: 2:04:00 in the movie. she asserts: "neo, i'm not afraid anymore, the oracle told me i'd fall in love with a dead man. that man i'd love would be the one."

now... if i'm wrong, then my whole reasoning behind this is obselete.

Just put on the DVD and put on subtitles. Nowhere does Trinity say anything about a dead man.

My guess is the matrix software was written by microsoft. We know that v1.0 failed & v2.0 is buggy, so I'm guessing that, in the new movie, they've patched the bug that let Neo do his trick and have upgraded to matrix v2.1 or maybe 3.0.

there is no Agent Smith in the matrix reloaded, he was destroyed in the first film.

he has now been replaced with new improved Agent Smith 2.0, a self replicating agent.

my guess is that either:

a. he has been upgraded to stop neo using the explodey trick on him or...

b. as he is self replicating, there are too many of them explodey as it takes a couple of seconds, by then there could be another 12 of them.

You mean the slammer virus hit the matrix too? <keanu>whoa</keanu>

The way I see it is that to be The One he had to not be Neo. The persona that was Neo was an ego feeding egotistically on the notion that he might be The One. When he went to see the Oracle she debused him of his false hope and opened the door to his ego death by telling him that Morphius would die because he believed. Neo became The One the moment he choose to die to save Morphius, the moment he surrendered himself to death. The moment his false notion of who he was disappeared in death The One awakened. To die for love is to awaken into love as symbolized by the kiss.
