Wanna know how to REALLY see it before anyone else?

Get invited to a special screening by AOL at 7 PM

It was outstanding, by the way

Proof? Hm... how about that the first words out of the Architech's mouth was about the hardest-to-understand paragraph I've ever encountered outside of Shakespeare

A bit off topic, but NO KIDDING!
I'm going to have to see it again just to figure out what the heck he was talking about!

I was disappointed as well. Thought it was kinda cheesy (not the special effects - they were the best I've seen, but the story).

First one was definitely much better.

I saw it and thought it was really good... Not as good as the first but that's a hard act to follow... A still a must see, and for me, a must see more then once because it was a bit confusing...

Great action....

Great movie!!

Definitely hit some interesting philosophical topics and builds pretty well off the first movie.

Casting probably wasn't as good as the first, but still pretty good stuff.. I find that if you expect too much, you tend to always get disappointed, so don't go in with too much How's that for some causality for ya? The less expectations you have creates a better feeling when you walk out the theatre.

I have no idea if I used that correctly, but I'm sure someone here will correct me if I'm wrong. Some more casuality????

Big Thumbs up for me.

I am not going to post any specifics here so as not to spoil anything.

I do think that since this is the sequel there are going to be some that say "not as good as the first"
I think this is only valid since NO ONE had seen anything like the first film.. so the "bullet time" etc does not have that first time WOW factor as it did. BUT this film blows away the first for action, scope, neat effects, and did I mention Action.

IT does get deep but that is part of the package. Can't wait for xmas now.. woot 2 in six months.. Now that is a trend I would like to see repeated.

I saw the Matrix Reloaded, I have to say I was very disappointed!!!
It wasn't as great as one would expect. Storyline is complicated, too much philosophy...if you're a fan, go check it out, but I would say go catch the matinee.

I concur, BIG THUMBS UP FROM ME!

Just got back from watching the movie. I enjoyed the philosophy elements, most movies made today a 3rd grader can understand. The action elements kicked A55 to boot!

One word: IMPRESSIVE

It surpasses the original (yes, I think it's even better), but it may not yield the same impact factor because expectations are very high. If I were to quantify quality, I would say the sequel is not 3 times better than the original, but maybe 1.2x; this could lead to disappointment, due to all the generated hype (and the long wait). All in all, it is an awesome movie, with or without comparisons to its prequel.

I can already feel it, Revolution is going to be awesome. The story line is so intricating.

And yes, the action; it's probably the best I've seen, EVER. I was enjoying the movie and thought it was pretty good, until Agent Smith showed up. At that point, WOW, witness the coolest fighting scene ever with really nice special effects. I was smiling so much during the scene that my lips and cheeks almost cramped

Yes, the philosophical dialogues can be hard to comprehend, and the story does get a bit complex (slowing down the pace of the movie for a little while), but it makes this sequel all the more interesting. This is a great follow-up, and it paves the way to an even more interesting final episode in 6 months. Can't wait!

Of course, there were several other memorable scenes, but I won't ruin the movie for you, go watch it.

And again, Monica Belucci is gorgeous; that dress really showed her natural "curves", from both "hemispheres".

I'll probably go watch it again once or twice, then will wait patiently to own the DVD (same for the sequel, of course). Sci-fi lovers, you're going to be in heaven.

REMINDER: PrototypeStan was right; stay after the end credits, and you will see a teaser trailer for the 2nd sequel.

And if you are a real fan, don't forget to preorder your copy of the Animatrix DVD; it might fill up some gaps in the storyline

I was impressed that it wasn't geared towards the typical 13 year old boy, plot wise. It's intricate, as intricate as the first, but that's what it's about. The fight scenes are out of control. As much as KR sucks as an actor, I was impressed with his martial arts training. Good job.

It was good...the story could use a little work, but I liked the humor element they added in along with the many ins and outs of the programming of the matrix, etc. They changed the feeling of the whole movie however - it went from pure action to 50/50 between action and sexuality. It just seemed weird to me seeing the amount of sexual references in the movie as opposed to the first.

But it definitely was worth seeing. The fight scenes and action scenes delivered the special effects as promised although sometimes they were overkill. There was so much depth to the action sequences and it was so visually stunning that my head hurt at the end of the movie (this is a good thing).

And just to warn you...there are a few parts in the movie when it goes from dark on the screen to almost pure white...IT HURTS!!! so just watch for that.

Check it out if you liked the first one, you will enjoy at least some of this if not all!

Ewww... I hate when they put 16:9 movies on the IMAX. They Pan&Scan it, and they usually edit it down to PG rating as well.

I heard that the movie was going to be "formatted" to the IMAX aspect ratio. I don't really know what that means but if it is truly a pan and scan, I think I'll pass.

IMHO it is just more of the same, amazing special effects and a weak/fair dialogue (too many cheesey platitudes for this edumacated guy). I won't discuss specifics because I hate spoilers. Just make sure to see it in a good theater with all the Dolby Digital, THX, etc and not some basic setup.

When you go don't miss the "The Matrix Revolutions" trailer is after the closing credits

fyi - in real life, the actress Gloria Foster (The Oracle) died shortly after filming completed
