Matrox 2D Quality over GF5200's

Is the 2D quality of a Matrox G550 noticeably better than the 2D quality in a card like a GF4 MX440 or GF FX5200????? :Q That much as for paying double the price for a G550???

(not into gaming) JUst Photoshop, video Editing and DVD PLayback and low budget

Matrox's 2D quality is better than Ati or nVivdia. You would probably notice the difference when editing high res images and the like

It IS better, but you're not guaranteed to notice. Hell Matrox cards from the Geforce256 era still rape in terms of 2D IQ imo.

I switched from G450 to PNY FX5200 and didn't notice a degradation in 2D quality. I'd rate myself as quite sensitive to blurry images on monitors.

if your resolution is set to 1600X1200 85MHZ, you may notice some difference.

It also depends on which brand of NV 5200. Quality manufacturers put quality components.
Especially 5200Ultra version. You shouldn't see the differences.

I really dont think i have the eyes to notice the diference and i dont use 1600x1200 resolutions, only 1024x768

What about compared with an ATI R9600??
