IMHO GeForce is the worst name for a graphics card I've ever heard.

I liked the old 3dfx names.... Voodoo, Banshee, Rush, Velocity, etc

GeForce stands for Geometry Force

They can call it whatever they want as long as it's the goods IMO

Well Velocity was a STB name for some nvidia cards too I like GeForce, makes me think of speed. Voodoo got old with the Voodoo 4/5. Parhelia sounds kinda dumb to me though. Werent rumors saying the actual card would be Parhelion or something?

I think that's true for all of us here. A nice name is always a benefit for marketing though, and a successful marketing campaign can make even the worst products a success.

Ah yes, I'd completely forgotten what it originally stood for. Nonetheless, I still think GeForce is a ridiculous name

WTF? Geforce? Sounds kinda like G-Spot, what a godawful name!

Personally I think Parheliah sounds kinda cool and exotic, I don't think I could've come up with a better name.

Actually I like "GeForce" and to me it sounds like the G-Effects that pilots experience. In that respect the card is bestowing such "forces" onto the player for a better gaming experience.

Also I've always liked the "Radeon" brand name as well. It's like no-one really knows what it means but it sounds very cool anyway.
