On a pound for pound basis?

fuck pound for pound, Wilks may have been close at one point but I haven't focused on Oly lifts for quite some time. On non-oly lifts I'd be willing to bet, even though I've been broken for a couple years, my Wilks in the big 3 would be higher than hers.

I'll be honest, I didn't come in here expecting to see a female that I'd actually consider attractive. I'll chastise myself for my prejudice now.

Looks pretty hot to me...
And you're old. You say that when you drive by the eaters ominous meeting house.

I might have driven by too....:$

Not. I go to the local uni gym. No matter how long I go, all of the college girls are the same age.

Ah, stop telling me I'm old all ready.

I'll develop a complex or something.

That depends on what you're talking about. I bet her bench sucks ass. Or curls. Or any other number of things. Not everyone gives a shit about Olympic lifts.

Curls? LOL... Does anyone actually care about curls? I have not curled since HS and I bet I could out curl most people. Not that I care... Your biceps should get plenty of work from pull-ups, chin-ups and rowing type work.

Olympic lifts ARE more impressive than curls and bench, period. Goodness, a strong clean or snatch translates into a great vertical, great quickness, great 40 times, basically anything that requires power from the posterior chain (which is 90% of the athletic world)

I would say that those that curl care about curls and just like you not caring because you don't do them, those that don't do Olympic lifts or need a great vertical could care as much for those types of lifts.

To each his own, everyone who pickups up a weight and does something with it is better off then a person who doesn't, it doesn't matter with what mussel group he uses. Now back to my 100 pound cross body hammer curls.

I prefer scallops over all the other mussels. Thanks

I don't think you quite understand. The curl, which is an isolated exercise designed to isolate one muscle group, which doesn't ever act on its own under normal real life circumstances offers basically nothing overall to what I would call functional strength.

Whether or not you do cleans, snatches, deadlifts, etc... Those compound posterior chain lifts benefit more than just sports. They improve the entire well being of the person in every day facets of life. Certainly everyone is entitled to their opinion. But to say all opinions are equal is just plain wrong.

Truly, the only use I can see for curls is aesthetic bodybuilding, but that is even debatable.

I understand perfectly, I think it is you that missed the point of my post. Not everyone wants, needs or gives two fucks about explosive jumps or cleaning 300# For someone to make the claim that an isolation movement is useless is asinine. My guess is you have never had a an arm wrapped around you neck with a bicep peak on your neck getting ready to squeeze you windpipe shut and stop the blood flow to your brain, that very motion is exactly like a curl. And really; 'compound posterior chain lifts' how many books did you read to find that?
