mATX NF2 mobo

I have been recently looking at microATX boards with NForce2 chipsets.

The 4 Im looking at are:

Aopen MK79G
Biostar M7NCG
Leadtek K7NCR18GM
Shuttle MN31N

Onboard graphics is a high plus. The first 3 are about $100 while the Shuttle is $90 but also has 2 VGA out and firewire.

I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about any of these boards, good or bad. Not just rumors, but personal experience, testing, or other such things.

I have always had good luck with shuttle, and they are known for thier small boards. That also it has the MCP-T southbridge, so that not only gives you firewire, but the Soundstorm sound card.

So I would go shuttle.

I read that Asus will be releasing their A7N8X-VM on the 20th so it'll be interesting to see what that's got to offer too. Price will probably be high, though.

I have the M7NCG and it's a nice board, it also has onboard FireWire.

don't forget about the Shuttle FN41, the motherboard that is in the SSF SN41. it is available here (http://us.shuttle.com/specs_access.asp?pro_id=197) for $199 directly from shuttle. very pricey but also very tiny =)

No experience here with any you mentioned, but I use an ASUS A7N266-VM/AA NForce board, and it works just fine. Although for better onboard graphics the nForce2 would be nice.

If I were buying a new one I would go with the Shuttle MN31N because of the dual VGA ports. That leaves a LOT of room for dual monitors on a workstation type system. It also has 3 DDR slots, which is a plus. $90 for a new board is also a good price in my opinion, especially considering all of the onboard components. 6 USB 2.0 ports is nice, also the firewire, 6 channel audio. It just keeps getting better and better!

If I had time I'd look more closely at the other models, but the dual VGA ports caught my attention...

The Biostar M7NCG is a stable board with most all but SATA and RAID. Could do worse
