Mauled girl KFC story most likely a hoax

Google just now of KFC maul girl hoax brings up a hot active story.

Grandpa had 10 pit bulls, three broke through a screen and got into the house and dragged the girl into the back yard. Grandpa and his girl friend tried to stop them and were attacked and two dogs were shot. Wow thank goodness they were armed.

None of this is the little girls fault, none of the bad should go on her head, but totally sounds like fraud. Food places around hospitals get some gnarly stuff, NOBODY would ask some little girl to leave. Creepy Granny maybe.

Why not just hold a legit fund raiser like everyone else does? They can't get a few people together in the community to help out? It's ridiculously easy to raise money for cute kids. Local businesses would probably have chipped in too.

Indeed. However, if they had tried that and it failed, I would be kinda torn on how harshly to judge their fraudulent action. They would still be in the wrong, but at least their motivation was to provide for their child. That said, this may have been the only thing that came to mind and not doing it the legit way.

Anyway, kudos to KFC for helping out. They have gone out of their way to help. :thumbsup:

Sad, but this is probably true. I have a feeling this was less "we need to do anything we can to get her taken care of, even if it means lying" and more "how can we profit off this".

To allow them to reap in any cash over this is wrong. Their intent was to manipulate and damage other people for money. And they succeeded. And they encouraged the next person to use this incident as a learning tool to devise an even better lie to manipulate and damage for sympathy donations with a better chance of getting away with it.

I really hope KFC only pays directly to the hospital / surgeon that does this and not to this scumbag family. It looks like their online donation page has been suspended and is offering refunds to anyone who donated.

Yes, those people. They banned pitbulls here in Ontario a number of years ago. Not allowed to sell or breed them for sale, dogs must be kept muzzled in public. All dog owners can also now be held criminally liable if their pet injures or kills someone. I don't know how effective the law has actually been, but you rarely hear of dog attacks anymore.

There are people who argue that pitbulls can be a loving dog. Which I'm sure is true under an intense training regiment. However, most people barely train the Golden Retriever. Pitbulls are like some sort of ancient proto-wolf. Bred for power and primal rage. I've heard cops say they've had to empty an entire clip before bringing down one of those things. That's nuts. Plus their owners tend to be of a certain element.

I personally think all dogs have similar aggression the difference is a pitbull is a killing machine and does serious DPS when it decides to bite. Rottweilers are up there too but not as many people have them.

BTW who the hell keeps 8 pitbulls? You're either running a dog fighting ring or have serious lion tamer disorder. One is more than a handful for most people to get it good exercise and socialize it.

Pit bulls average about 40-50% of all dog bite fatalities.
