Any of you guys played it? I've played 1 and 2 and love both. How is it? Im thinking of buying it on GMG only 7.84$ for the complete pack

It's fin, but has a lot of cut scenes, I mean a lot. I just looked it up, and oddly enough GMG has the MP3 + season pass for less than just MP3, if you're going to buy it get the complete one.

It's the best action movie I've ever played. I bought it for $60 and I don't regret it a single bit. For $10 you should absolutely check it out.

It's 10 hours long and it doesn't have any replay value; but if you're buying games purely based on their length and replayability, then you're doing it wrong.

Yes, the game is "only" 10 hours long. But I'll be damned if it isn't one of the most thrilling, detailed, intense 10 hours of gameplay I've ever experienced. Ever seen the movie Man on Fire? It's like a video game adaptation of that.

If you do get it at least play past the first two hours or so. The first two hours are extremely cut scene heavy and a little meh. They do set up the rest of the game though and it is rather entertaining.

I'm playing it right now and I'm enjoying it. It is like playing a movie, as Dankk mentioned. The only thing that's annoying is that the cutscenes are hyperstylized - the blurring/double vision/rasterizing gets old pretty quickly. It seems that all the DLC is for multiplayer - I was disappointed to find that since the Amazon deal included the season pass. But even if you only play the single player game, I still think it's easily worth the $10.

I have to admit that point #1 in that review - the game switches me back to a pistol after every cutscene - is very annoying. Why the hell does it mess with your weapon selection? I do really like the fact that the cutscenes show Max with the actual weapons you are carrying. Point 2 is also somewhat true about the excessive number of cutscenes, but I didn't agree with points 3 and 4.

It's certainly not the best game ever made, but I found it plenty entertaining for $10. I wouldn't have paid $60 for it though.

I agreed with the bolded quote sections the most. The characters sucked (stereotypical POS's), the writing was terrible and didn't flow. I got to the stadium and uninstalled.

I remember jamming out to the theme song back in 00-03 and just loving how hopeless and sad the story was. Each of the characters were different and interesting. They traded that in for a bunch of younger Hispanic Yuppie characters and their drug/party issues.

Lol, take a look at the...you know...name of the website. Vulgarity happens to be their form of "artistic talent" so to speak.

Take it with a grain of salt, the game is a complete departure from the previous two as it is not written by Sam Lake who wrote the first two. It's seriously as much of Max Payne as the movie was.

And it really isn't as film Noir as the previous two were. Most of what I played took place during the daytime, in Brazil (I think). No real shadows, no real dark places...just very bright with a "dark outlook" so to speak since he is now an alcoholic with a drug problem chasing and trying to rescue people he has no emotional ties to.

I thought it was crap and didn't finish the game because of this personal conclusion. But you are more than welcome to disagree with me.

I know the definition, it's french for "Black" and is basically painted around that...the world sucks, the main hero is doomed, dark lighting, black and white film helped it.

The main thing is that both MP1 and MP2 used the Femme Fatale figure, and it worked. Mona was awesome.

Not saying that they should have done it for a 3rd time as it may have become dull (even though she lived in the hardest setting of MP2).

I find the first two definitely more Noir than running around chasing 20-something "Gimme Gimme"'s in a Brazilian Atmosphere. The key word I used was "as"

derailing aside, the game is worth $10. Should give it a go, but be warned its like a 20 gig download.

It's still a good and enjoyable game. I paid $15 for it and that was money well spent.

If you like shooting and good graphics is a very good game and very worth it

if you are in for new experiences and good story, then its a mediocre game and you might not like it

Another thing I appreciate about this game is the sheer "over the top" action sequences, but this could be a negative for some as they are totally unbelievable. If you've ever seen a movie like Crank, you'll have an idea of what I'm talking about. A couple of examples are falling from a collapsing water tower while shooting half a dozen pursuing gunmen, or shooting an in-flight RPG out of the air. The RPG one is so ridiculous I probably laughed out loud, but the whole game is way over the top so it didn't spoil my enjoyment of the game.

Sleeping Dogs is a great game, you won't be disappointed.

i would have chosen MP3 over Sleeping Dogs to tell you the truth, but thats me that i get super bored with open worlds/sandbox games
