So here's the problem... At certain points in both Max Payne and The Sims the game crashes and closes. I checked all my drivers reinstalled the newest VIA drivers, NVIDIA v12.90 detatnator 3 drivers, and even DirectX 8.0. The games launch initially and play fine for some time, but seem to crash at certain points, in Max Payne it is at the beginning of the real first level, but it plays through the background story first level just fine.
Here is my system...
1.2GHz Atlon @ 1.4 (yes I clocked it back down and there was no change)

Geforce2 MX400 Abit Siluro
Some CD Burners
A Toshiba DVD-ROM
Windows ME
768MB DDR SDRAM
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated, cause I really want to get playing on Max Payne, and don't hessitate to ask for more info if it will help.
