Max Payne Movie

Really want this movie to be good, but I can't get my hopes up too high. As we all know, video game movies never work for some reason. It opens in two days and it hasn't been screened for Critics yet, never a good sign. As long as Rottentomatoes has it at 25%+ I'll probably go see it just because I'm a big fan of the games.

I read something after the end credits sets up the sequel. Whether or not there will be a sequel obviously depends on how well this movie does.

Too bad they didn't let the critics screen it yet.

The more they hate a movie the more I tend to like it.

Doesn't look very good. Looks like they completely removed the film noir aspect of the games and added some weird ass religious, Constatine-like, theme to it. The casting choice is also questionnable.

I still have my hopes up. The most recent trailers look pretty good. Im seeing it tomorrow night, as a perk they are also showing a new trailer of Alan Wake. The newest game from Remedy.

I like the casting choice but don't like the fact that it went from a Norse religion theme in the game to standerd Christian demons and angels theme like Constatine and End of Days and other movies

Almost no critics have seen it yet and for a movie due out this Friday that is not a good sign. Unfortunately, this probably means no Max Payne 3 if the movie tanks.

Also, it's rated PG-13. It's not that I crave violence, but whenever I see a PG-13 rating on a movie that really should be R, I get skeptical.

Yeah I didn't really like that either. I guess they wanna relate to American culture better? I have no idea, but I really liked the game and its story line. The cast is alright too... man, why can't they just leave stuff well enough alone? If it ain't broke, don't fix it, dangit.

I can see why you're confused...

SoulAssassin was talking about a 3rd installment of the video game series, not talking about a 3rd movie. I was saying the success of the movie won't have anything to do with a 3rd video game being released. I'll edit...
