I'm with you on that one, I'm big on the CTU 30 - Blue. Best price I've found was $24.99 a dozen at a local golf store here in Raleigh, NC. For golf ball prices in general, golfsmith had been fair for me...
Just my 2 cents...

I picked up 60 AAAA Strata Tour Professional Balatas off Ebay for about $30 or so. You have to be a straight hitter off the tee with these (any slice or hook will be exaggerated), but they spin like crazy with short irons. I can back a ball up several feet with anything below an eight iron. Nice feel for chipping/putting as well.Originally posted by: Doggiedog

Same here. I bought a couple dozen Maxfli Revolutions on sale last year and they really sucked. Even though they were urethane, I couldn't put any spin on them at all. Plus, they felt like I was hitting rocks.

walberty,
No disrespect but all balls are not created equal. The Pro V1 for instance has been proven in Golf Digest Studies ( August 2001 issue p.153 ) to fly six yards further when hit with it's seems are vertical. The whole debate prompted Maxfli and Precept to air complaints that the Pro V1 might exceed USGA rules. Yes, I know, I'm just an amateur and this guys are pros and making the the big bucks.
This brings me to agree with you on the favorite ball brand - lucky shirt analogy. I've only been golfing for 2 full years now and hover in the 12-13 handicap zone, but I do believe in the psychological side of the game. If you believe that a certain ball gives you an edge (and can afford $40.00/dozen) than go for it...
Thanks for the insight and good points walberty.
