Hot if you use a $20 off $100 coupon that's floating around for $59.94 AR + tax.

Then there is the guy that used that 20/100 and the story goes like this (from FW) "Used Staples coupon #XXX80 on a $150 order on 9/05/03. The site accepted it and confirmed the order. A few hours later, a CSR from Staples called and left a message saying that the coupon was expired and that I had until the next business day at 2:00pm to cancel the order or it would be delivered WITHOUT the coupon deduction". There may be a 20/85 B&M and a 30/150 online, YMMV with either one. Not many good Staples coupons right now.

I used a 20 of $85 coupon that I printed from a link at chubby wallet, it is good through next week.
Use it and save big time.

Yeah, I just used the $20 off of $85 coupon that I printed out on my deskjet. The CSR called the manager over to ask about the coupon, and they fiddled for a couple minutes (thought they were going to reject it), but then got it in the system "ok". I think they were trying to use the barcode scanner, and I'm still using a HP Deskjet 855 (re: crappy) so it's no wonder it didn't work. $59.xx AR isn't bad at all.

No problem using the $20 off $85 for me either. Do a search on the "fat site" for $20 off $85 and print the code.
$59.94 for 120meg 7200rpm 8 meg cache is a great deal and you don't have to PM or argue with a CS agent to get it.
Thanks for the great deal
The funny part was that my printer was out of ink so I copied the coupon to a floppy and brought it to their printing dept. They printed me their coupon for free
They outdid themselves on customer service today

I got this drive for $59 AR AC as well a month back. MUCH quieter than my Western Digital equivalent. If you want quiet seeks too, use the aamset.exe utility that comes in one of Maxtor's utility packages and turn on AAM mode. Makes a big difference in noise level.

Interesting information, thanks for the suggestion.

This is the 8MB cache ("UltraEdition). I just picked mine up for $59.95 ($119.94 - $40 MIR - $20 coupon).

With $20 off coupon its a good deal, but I liked this deal better when it was $59 after 1 rebate at CompUSA last week, with no coupon retraction to worry about.

Well, I did an in-store pickup. So, all I have to worry about is the MIR.

The coupon is only good B&M and expires on the 13th. I saved it if no-one else can find it

No one had a problem using this? The reason I ask is that the coupon from fatwallet states that "Minimum purchase requirement of $85 must be met with purchases to which no other coupon or instant savings offer applies." It looks like this drive has an instant rebate of $10.

If in-store specials are not available in your area can you still order on-line and receive the rebate?

also when you have it shipped to you, what do you use as a receipt to claim the rebate?

thank you.

peterskm = They word the coupon wrong, what it is supposed to mean is that you have to have an $85 purchase after any coupons or instant rebates are applied.

r01axb = I doubt you can get this online, you could call and talk to a CSR but I don't know what their policy about that is. When you buy it at the store it gives you an extra receipt for the rebate and I don't know if they do the same for an online purchase.

I have searched the coupon world over and to no avail, I can't find the afore mentioned $20 off $100 or any other. The $80 deal isn't bad but I could use the extra $20, if I could only find it. I have looked for fat site and chubby wallet, the top 50, the top 100 and on and on, but with no luck.
I would like to buy online but that isn't a must. If someone would take pitty on an old man so he doesn't have to cry himself to sleep again tonight, and PM me some certain information I would be ever so grateful!!! If I just broke the rules forgive me.

Thanks A Bunch!

"What's the warranty on these?"

One year. I have owned five different Maxtor drives and have not had a failure going on several years.

I picked on up at B&M yesterday. the 20 off 85 coupon at FW worked fine.

129.99 - 10IR - 20 coup - 40AR = 59.99

All I gotta do is wait for the rebate. Staples is usually pretty good with rebates though.

It is kinda loud though. I'll try what jrichrds suggested about the AAM mode and see how it goes.

Thanks for the tip. Used the 20 off 85 coupon and sent in the $40 rebate. Should net out at around 64.99 after taxes.

Hope this will work with my 80G WD HD. But first I need to dump the contents of the 80GB drive onto the 120GB and then take my old 60 GB drive and dump its contents back onto the 80Gigger. Then I should be all set.

Anyone know if Maxtor's MaxBlast software will work in making these HD transfers from WD drive to Maxtor drives as well as from WD to WD drives?

Thx

I know I'm kinda late to this thread, but what is the link to the 20 off of 85 coupon you guys found. I can't seem to find chubby wallet when I do a google search.

Thanks.
