nope, if you pm a item at best buy it is no longer qualified for any rebate

is that Best Buy's policy now?
Originally posted by: billbillwI picked up the last one in stock at my local BB yesterday. The price rang up as $129 and it printed 2 rebates for $30 each. I think BB quit giving the $50 rebate when the lowered the price. The only link on BB website shows only the 2 $30 rebates. At $69, thats $0.58/GB. Amazing.

Staples does not pricematch to after rebate prices anymore.
Bought this Maxtor 120Gb/8mb drive at my local Best Buy tonight for $139.99 with $40 and $30 rebates (so net $70 after rebates). I'm happy with that...

Yah there as a long 6 page thread on the original deal that seems to have gotten deleted. Anyone have any idea why that thread was censored (not like there really needs to be a reason to censor threads around here)? It had a lot of good useful links to rebates and whatnot.
Anyway, the deal here and in most places was $129.99 - $30 Maxtor MIR - $50 BB MIR (if you are so lucky as to have the $50 PDF) = $49.99
Other stores mistakenly put the price on display as a $70 off rebate but the only rebates you can currently get are the 2 $30 off ones. Therefore, you can get an instant $10 off for that mishap. So, if you get super duper lucky it's only $39.99 fo ra 120GB DRIVE!
