Maxtor 160GB 8mb $129 AR at CompUSA

Got my drive tonight. Box says 1 year, as does the warranty card inside. On the web site, it shows up as a 3 year warranty... so who knows.

The website's database is what you go through when you do a RMA though so I'd say that's more accurate.

I was worried cuz after I ordered from Staples and price matched against CompUSA, the credit to my account didn't show up for a while. Finally got the drive yesterday after ordering a week ago. And on my Visa account, wonder of wonders....

I just did a PM on this Maxtor 160GB hard drive at Staples.com, Fry's Has it on sale for $129.99 after a $50 MIR , but the sale may end on tuesday (4-22). I used a $20 off $100 coupon because the $30 off $150 coupon expired early (the AICPA one).

The deal : Maxtor 160GB hard drive - $130.96 (110%) + taxes - $20 off $100 coupon = around $99.03

If you don't have a Fry's near you you might still be able to do the PM because staples already has the Fry's PM information in there computer system, It took only 2 minutes for the CSR to approve my PM to Fry's.

How do I PM this? Do I call and ask for the PM, then have them charge it to me over the phone or do I go ahead and order it, than call back with the PM?

Just wanted to say thanks for posting this deal. Believe it or not, my ATA IDE cable broke within a day of having the drive, but I must say their support is amazing. I emailed them at 4:18pm yesterday (Saturday) and I got a reply back at 4:35. Pretty crazy.
