Ok, Ordered the drive with the 30off coupon on December the 1st, was supposed to be delivered on 3rd.
Was on the truck, - and i called the truck driver(phone number from ID he left for the message he left me) - to let him know i will be in 5th of December.

I never get any message back from the guy.... I wait for one more day, and decide to call OD When My drive is going to be delivered.... I call on the 5th December and OD rep. says, he will pass a message on..... That same day i go home - ain't nothing on my door... Next day - I get a message from a lady from OD (in my home phone number) saying that they're OOS and they aren't able to deliver it anymore..... ok...NP...

NOW IT GETS BETTER...

Mother Flushers, out of nowhere decide to "fulfill my order" yesterday, and on my Amex statement, there's a charge for $103.45 (now mind you, without the 30off coupon) post-dated as yesterday....

QUESTION: Should I debate this as unauthorized purchase and let AMEX take it out on OD? I REALLY AM PISSED....BECAUSE OD shouldn't be charging the card whenever they want to, esp. after they have specified and have left a message saying that the drive is OOS....What's going on????? can someobdy help

ok the old MIR is dead for this drive and the new MIR is only for $20 not forty so not nearly as sweet but not bad rebate link

I just got this 20GB Maxtor and it sounds louder than most drives I've heard. Could others who got in on this deal let us know how much noise yours makes?

Which version did you get? The liquid bearings or the regular. At least a couple who had the liquid ones said theirs was noisy.

I have the regular but haven't run it yet. I am still collecting goodies for the comp it goes in.

I'm not sure what type of bearings it has. It is fairly quiet I guess, just noisier than some drives I've had. No regrets at $40 I paid for it.

Anybody have the rebate form for this deal? I had it scanned but can't find it now.
