I ordered one last night (23233)... and I also ordered a refill for my desk calendar to put it over $100. One question though, the calendar is supposed to be delivered tomorrow, and the hdd Thursday. They're really going to make two trips just to deliver a $3 calendar two days early?

Drive will be $32.11 after MIR.

Me too.

99.00 Drive
0.89 Glue stick (910-265)
0.15 1 box of paperclips (429-266)
3.86 Tax
-30.00 30 off 100
--------
73.90 Out the door
-40.00 Rebate
--------
33.90 All told

Not bad. Big thanks to Wilddreamer and all the rest of you.

Now to go slightly off topic. Has there ever been a thread along the lines of "how to most efficiently make up $x.xx needed to move up to the next OD/Staples coupon?" I had to do a little digging thru the office supply big book to get this order bumped up $1.04. Has anyone ever run across an OD item costing exactly $1.00? Yup, I've got way too much time on my hands.

re: extra $1 to use coupon, FWIW I got one of those new "command adhesive" 3m hooks that have been advertised on TV. Hopefully it will solve our problem of how to hang our xmas wreath on our door, without permanently markingthe door. $3, so strickly more than needed, but I guess I was focused more on buying something I actually need, than keeping it cheap.

Dang it! All I'm getting is 'Backorder' I am being forced to do a store pick-up, adding $10 to the cost, bringing it back to the original $40 + tax. Oh well, I'll get it, just cause I need a 7200RPM for the site.

Peace

Do the store pickup, if you have a store nearby.
They should do a pricematch to the web price - they did for me!
But, if using the $30. off, make sure to order another $1. worth of stuff to keep you over $100. when they PM to $99. for the drive.

The one they sent on the last deal was a D740X-6L . Never a Maxtor fan until now, this is the best HD I've ever had. Ordered this deal for delivery tomorrow.

I placed my order on Sunday night and, I must say, OD really has their sh*t together when it comes to web-ordering. I received my other item (mailing tape) today, so yes they will make a trip just to deliver the tape . I'm expecting the drive on thursday so I'll check the specs and post again when it arrives.

VH2000, can I possibly add a candy bar when I go to pick up the order to the hard drive? I didn't add anything else to the order originally cause the price of the drive alone was $109.99. You think I can come up with a candy bar, say, 'can I pick up my hard drive and buy this candy bar too?' and then suggest a price match to their website price of $99? Or will it not work? LOL, I know this is a real specific situation, I apologize, I just want to get an idea of how strict their policy is to adding items when picking up an order in store. I know they haven't charged the card yet, they just use it as authorization, then when you come to pick up they charge the card and check the ID. Any comments?

I just want to be sure, these drives ARE D740X as indicated by several people, therefore, they are ATA-133 drives as the D740X product specification sheet says, correct? If so, this deal is FLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMING HOT! LOL

On the rebate form, it states: "claims from dealers/distributors, their employees, groups, clubs or organizations will not be honored" Does this mean if I buy the product through business, I'm not eligible for a rebate? Are their work arounds? Thanks

Actually, here's the whole senario.
I ordered one thru MY account online, at $99.00 price, to be delivered 12/11.
Then I ordered the one I told you about, thru a friends account, paid with his CC,
his name & address and made it for in-store-pickup. The price jumped to $109.99
when I selected -in-store-pickup, so I thru some pens in to bump order up another $1.xx.
BTW - I am reimbursing my friend for the full amount and then getting the rebate when it comes in.
What are friends for?? Multiple accounts, of course!!

So, I called store and asked them what I needed to pickup friends order that we
put thru under his account. She told me that they normally like you to have the actual
CC when picking up order, but with ID, I could just sign for it.

So, I went in and signed (didn't even ask for ID) and I asked about the pricematch and
she said she would do a return and reinvoice it at the lower amount, but I didn't have my
friends CC with me, so she said I could call with the info. When I got home, I called her back
with the CC number, she did a return credit for $109.99, charged $99.00, and ended up with
a credit of $11.87 to the card ($10.99 + tax). So, she did not even deal with the coupon
when she did the "exchange" receipt. She told me to just use the original receipt for
the rebate.

So, you may not have to worry about buying that Snickers bar, unless you're hungry of course!!
Hope this helps!!

So, just to be clear:

"When I got home, I called her back with the CC number, she did a return credit for $109.99, charged $99.00, and ended up with
a credit of $11.87 to the card ($10.99 + tax)."

They will in the end, just credit your card back for $10.99 plus tax and that's it, meaning you got the drive at the price of:

$109.99 (Original Cost of drive)
$30.00 ($30 off $100 coupon)
- $40.00 (Mail-In Rebate)
-----------
$39.99 (Subtotal)
-$10.99 and tax (Returned to credit card after price match)
-----------
$29 (Price of drive after returned credit to CC)
+$Tax
-----------
$30 and some change (total)

Is that right?

EDIT: DO I HAVE TO BRING IN A PRINT-OUT OF THE $99 OFFICEDEPOT.COM PRICE OR SOMETHING?

Peace
