Not a D740X, but a DiamondMax Plus 8. It is on the Maxtor web site, here.. The 30GB is model 6E030L0, and does have fluid bearings. (All Plus 8 models do, unlike the D740X, which apparently is a "some do and some don't". Of course, I've never gotten one that does...)

Regardless of what's currently on Maxtor's website, there have been 30GB drives prior to the "Plus 8" series, but I can't remember if they were 7k2 RPM or not. Hopefully if people are getting "6E030L0" drives, they'll still be able to take advantage of the rebate, which seems to be for model "L01J030" instead.
