Did the deal without the PM. OD has now discontinued the drive - shows that way when you try to put it in your cart.

CLARIFICATION OF THE REBATE UNCERTAINTY:

The ONLINE rebate (03-63916) (available at Staples online rebate center or rebateshq.com) doesn't mention that it must be at staples.com. but expired on 9-20.
"Purchase one retail packaged Maxtor 30GB 7200 RPM hard drive. Offer good on purchase made at Staples only between August 31, 2003 and September 20, 2003."

The PRINT ONLY rebate to which the product page links (03-62226) states that it must be at staples.com only, but is good until 10-15.
"Purchase one retail packaged Maxtor 30GB 7200 RPM hard drive. Offer good on purchase made at Staples.com between September 01, 2003 and October
15, 2003."
...And on other section of form:
One retail packaged Maxtor 30GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive.

The 10 off 50 code that I found in FW does not work online, but does by phone (but wasn't listed as phone-only).

I clarified with the phone agent with whom I ordered. She confirmed that the print version (03-62226) would be honored, for what that's worth.

Just ordered one this morning. The CSR was nice, PMd w/o a question. I used the 10 off 50 coupon code from FW. It expired, but she took it anyway. It really depends on what CSR you talk to. My total is 42.33 before rebate. No tax for Oregonians. It will be at my door tomorrow.

none of the CSR's i called would accept the coupon, so i went to B&M and bought it. however, i'm now worried that the rebate may not come through. i think i'll just place an order online and return the drive to the store.

I got my drive today. It has a yellow copy of the order. Can I use this one for rebate? The paper said it's not the invoice. I've never done rebate with Staples before.

They wouldn't take the 10/50 even though it expires on 10/2 (according to FW). It came up as invalid.

i wouldn't use it if it isn't an invoice. you should call a CSR and ask for a invoice to be mailed to you asap.

I called the CSR; she said that's the typically receipt I would get when ordering stuff online. She assured me that I can send it in with the rebate, and there would not be any problem. Should I take her words for it?
