I've built lots of computer for friends and family over the years. For about 75% of the people, this would be way more space than they would ever need or use. If you can somehow combine with coupon and get your price to around $1 per gig, these smaller drives are excellent for lots of users.

I am one of those people that consider this a deal.
This is exactly what I'm looking for. Just, there isn't a Staples near me.
I'm building a pc for my kids and a 30 gig would be more than enough, and I don't consider the money from a rebate saved until I have it in the bank.
Now, when I upgrade my pc, i'll be going for a SATA drive and will go for one with a MIR and hope I get it

yes this is a pretty fair deal.

I bought 3 of these drives in Oct. all with rebates, but if I needed one today I would sure go for this. Alas my local Staples does not have these anymoe.

good drive for the money, more than enough space for the average Joe-mom and pop-email word process machine

First off, you've obviously never heard of a $10 off $40 coupon that are sent out every now and then.
