Seems kinda odd that they would pricematch with any store actually it seems kinda stupid. Not saying to do this or anything but it would be awfully easy to setup your own store/website with a registered domain name none the less and have the PM some BS price that you put up?? Maybe that CSR didn't know their full policies? Oh well just a thought.

I know what you mean...I bought four of these 40 giggers for under $90 and got a free zip drive with each a couple months ago. Unless someone really needs the space now, I would wait for a MUCH better deal. Otherwise these are great drives, and I did get two of them with an extra 5 gigs.

Damn, I know what you mean. I need at least a 30GB 7200 drive to house my MP3's for my new AudioTron, and I'll be damned if I'm paying over $100 for a 30GB drive. I wish I'd jumped on those 40GB's when you did. Nice find. Maxtor does make good drives, with the exception of the Abit Mobo I had that didn't like them, they've performed flawlessly.

I'm debating whether or not i should hop on this or try to get the IBM 45 gig if it ever comes down to this again. $131 shipped is definitely a good deal, and there was one on the IBM a few weeks ago that i missed out on. Anand's review says that the IBM is better than the Maxtor (with the Maxtor being 2nd best).

Any opinions?

Staples:
1. Order item. They check stock. If they say in stock and place order...
2. Then ask for price match. Give website info. They complete PM....
3. Then ask to use coupon. Give coupon code.

Maybe the average person wouldn't allow PM + coupons if they ran a business, but Staples isn't average.

OEM doesn't matter to most CSRs.
