Call your local OD to verify availability. Then talk to a CSR and say you just called the B&M and they said it was in stock.

Make sure you have the code(s) for any coupons...good luck

Ok, if we have to order by phone, how do we give them the coupon code for the 20% off $50? It just seems to be a click through type coupon and not one that has a code.

When I called, the customer service rep on the phone simply took my word for the fact I was looking at a $20 off of $100 coupon on my screen.

I had previously called my local Office Depot to veryify they had them in stock. They had three. The customer service rep initially argued with me, telling me that the local store had only one, and it might not be there when I got to the store, but she went ahead and processed the order.

There were of course, three on the shelf at the local store when I got there.

My only concern is with the rebate. They print off for you an "Invoice" at the local store. The rebate calls for a "sales receipt."

Did you ask if the "Invoice" was good enough? I think the last time i did an in-store pickup, they said a copy of the invoice would qualify for the rebate. Why not give them a jingle?

on the coupon codes, can you just write them down and take them to a local office depot and get that deal? or does it have to be online? and where can i find them... as the link supplied only automatically added the coupon into a cookie on my computer.

These OD people are geeks. Their site says OOS, so I enter an LA zip - still OOS. Then I go to my OD and they have a bunch sitting there, but marked $159.00.

So, I tell the girl behind the counter that's it's $119.99 on their web site and she just looks at me. I go to one of their comps and look on their site just to make sure. I come back and tell her and she says "Oh, really?".

Hello????

I still don't know if she told anyone so they could change the shelf price.

I passed because I don't really need a drive and it wasn't the ATA133.

Good deal, though.

I jumped on this deal in Seattle. I think it will ship from the OD warehouse in California. I like retail box drives and I also like the three year warranty. Now I can move my one-year warranty Dell OEM drive out of the torture chamber that is the boot drive position. I was almost going to get greedy and try to get a little from Ebates, but last time I tried that it screwed up my coupon.

Just a warning. The rebate has to be postmarked by April 27. Don't mess around. As soon as you know the drive is working OK, send in the rebate.

Thanks for the deal!

In SF Bay Area, mine ships 04/18/2002. CSR says they don't ship these from their own warehouses, but through "another" distributor. I think it's a good deal, but I'm a little confused as to what's in the box. They don't have either L01J060G or ST0156000H on Maxtor's website.

OD might not ship from their warehouse (they are affiliated with Tech Depot, among others), but what they might do is ship to your local OD warehouse (Seattle has one) and then use one of their couriers to deliver the package. Personally I prefer these couriers as I can leave a note and they will leave the package, unlike UPS which gets downright anal and absolutely will not leave packages at my relatively secure apartment.

If you do get this deal, print the rebate right now. Office Depot rebates, especially short time rebates like this one, have been known to disappear from their website. The link is somewhere above.

If you are having trouble with OOS, clear your office depot cookies. Items that have three day delivery are many times not available for you to pickup at your local store. So if you check the pickup box, it might kick back the order. I did this when ordering a notebook last month and the only way I could get the item back in my cart was to clear the cookies. The easiest way to get rid of specific cookies is to search your boot drive for "officedepot" files. Sort by date and you should find the most recent cookies. Delete these. I like this better than dumping all my cookies, which results in sfuff like having to re-logon to Anand and other sites.

<< This drive is only 99.99 at Best buy. Can you PM this and then get the deal. >>

Well, if they let you take 20% off after the PM you might get this for around $60 after rebate? You'd have to get a nice CSR for OD to let you stack a coupon and a PM...good luck
